Seamless entry. Overall experience is not that long if you only view one side of the grottoes. Try to check up days where they do maintenance on the lightings (this was in Nov for 2025). The night view is worth a wait.

I enjoyed it but since the show is in mandarin and I didn’t look up the story beforehand I was a bit confused. I wouldn’t say the plotline is as obvious as the other commenters suggested. I highly recommend reading about it before going. Arrive at the palace atleast 15mins before the show because you need to print the ticket and there’s usually a queue.

Hukou Waterfall of the Yellow River is divided into Shanxi and Shaanxi two scenic spots. It is on the east and west sides of Hukou Waterfall. I went to the scenic spot of Shaanxi three years ago. In May and August this year, I went to the scenic spot on the Shanxi side. Hukou Waterfall is a special waterfall caused by the changes of the Yellow River, more than 400 meters wide of the river, to the Hukou only 30-50 meters wide, and the gap of about 30 meters, forming a waterfall, like a giant pot, the water of the Yellow River, so called the pot mouth. Hukou waterfall is extremely spectacular, rapids, splashing foam forming smoke, and sonic earthquakes for several miles. When I went in May, the Yellow River water was clear, and the water in August was yellow. The "clear waterfall" and "yellow waterfall" were different due to the time to watch, and there was a completely different. Of course, by the comparison of photos, it can be seen that the water flow of the "clear waterfall" is much less than the "yellow waterfall". Tickets for both scenic spots on both sides of the Straits are 90 yuan, and you have to reach the viewing attractions through Jingjiao Car. The Jingjiao Car in Shanxi is closer, and the Jingjiao Car in Shaanxi is farther away. Great and a must see. It wasn’t very easy finding the entrance as the tower access is underground, but it’s a must see when you’re in Xi’An! Be prepared as it does get VERY crowded!

The environment is beautiful, with birds singing and flowers blooming. You can take a walk and have a cup of tea to rest. There are also animals such as peacocks, toucans, and parrots. However, I hope there can be more benches, as the elderly need to sit down every half hour.
Booked the tickets with a drum performance at 7 pm. Reached Tang Paradise at 4 pm to take some photos at the garden before watching the drum performance. Enjoyed the performance. It was in a small cozy theatre. Actual musicians performed in the performance.

I was originally torn between joining a group tour or chartering a car. The former offered a guide who could explain the route, rather than just visiting the area. Luckily, I chose this tour. Guide He was incredibly helpful and professional. He explained the scenery along the way and, at the most important sights, he also allowed us ample time for photos.
The Hukou Waterfall is located within Shanxi province, but I came to Shaanxi again this time to see it once more. It's definitely a must-see attraction. The surging river rushes down rapidly, crashing against the banks and creating towering waves. Coupled with the "Yellow River Cantata" echoing in my ears, it's incredibly awe-inspiring and gives me a feeling of passionate excitement.
