I highly recommend this chambres d’hote in Limousin. Right from the off, the communication was great and on arrival I was greeted warmly and showed around this lovely house. I stayed in Kingfisher for three nights and loved it. The room is beautiful with a stunning bathroom and well-equipped with everything I needed, including biscuits and fresh milk daily for tea. Julia and Steve are very welcoming and go to great lengths to ensure that you feel comfortable and at home in their home. The breakfast was excellent and included choices of fresh fruit, cheeses, ham, granola, pastries, bread and homemade extras such as pancakes and turn-overs. I also had dinner one night which was enough for two (I was travelling solo!) and eaten in their beautiful garden. All in all, I had a wonderful stay and very much hope to return.

We had an amazing 4 night stay in the bed and breakfast. It is runned by very lovely hosts. The breakfasts were different every day. The mezze platter was amazing. The room was very nice and tidy, with tea / coffee / biscuits. Thanks for everything.

We found this gem after searching the internet and reading the reviews. The place exceeds its reviews! The accommodation is truly superb. The house is spotless. The furniture and decor are amazing. The bedding and towels are top notch. Breakfast was wonderful. I can’t fault the place! I wish we could have stayed for the whole two weeks in France. Julia and Steve are fantastic hosts and quite simply lovely people. We had the Kingfisher room which is spacious and has a large en suite shower room. The shower is warm and powerful. Plenty of shower gels and shampoos. The towels are brilliant white, soft and real quality. Our room overlooks the large lake opposite the house. The en suite overlooks open fields and hills to the rear of the house. We had a delightful breakfast every day with a fresh selection of cooked hams, cheese, loads of fresh berries and fruits, yoghurts, croissants and breads. We had dinner cooked by Julia one evening (it’s offered as an extra charge on Sundays and Mondays as there aren’t many restaurants open in the area on this days. It’s rare that I’d give ten out of ten in a review but on this occasion the stay outshone ten out of ten. I’m a stickler for cleanliness and hygiene and, despite the house being 200 years old, it was spotless. We thank you both for letting us stay. It really was our pleasure to stay with you.

We first stayed here last year on our way back from Spain and loved it so much we went a little out of our way to schedule in more days here this time.This time we stayed for three nights and it was as good as last time. The quality of the rooms ( there are three) and the food provided is right up there. In my opinion the food is certainly good restaurant quality and value, if not better! The surroundings are remarkably peaceful and it is a good area for walking. We walked to Les Cars in around 40 minutes and it is a typically quaint French village with history attached. On the recommendation of Julia, one of our hosts ( Steve, and of course Colin the Dachsund are the others😃) we visited Oradour-sur- Glande, a little under an hour drive away. Well worth a visit and so informative of what happened there on 10 June 1944. We were profoundly moved; thank you Julia. From the outset you are made to feel so welcome and Steve and Julia certainly work hard to ensure you have a seamless, relaxing stay. They are so attentive and nothing is too much trouble for them. On my last review I mentioned the satnav and finding them. So much easier this time as our satnav found them without a problem because the system has updated. The proviso is that our satnav loves to “ ratrun” us down very small roads, it does the same in UK😂😂. My tip would be to get on the N21 to Chalus and from there look for the D15 and then D20. It of course depends where you are coming from. They are on the D20. Failing that, last year we used the GPS co-ordinates. You will find all the information you need on their web site and in their email confirmation. My view is that if you find yourself in the Limoges area, can’t think of a better, friendlier, more comfortable and relaxing place to stay with a delightful couple.

Just left after a 6 night stay and the hosts Julia and Steve could not have been more lovely. Everything was to perfection. Highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for the perfect getaway! Julia is an amazing cook, breakfast was out of this world! Will def be back!
