We went to New Orleans for a wedding and decided no t to stay in a conventional hotel but to make our visit a different one. We looked for a while and decided to stay at Magnolia mansion because we were attracted to the house appearance of the 1,800 hundred’s. Wept arrived much earlier than our 3 PM check inn and were received by the most friendly manager named Jacob. He told us about the mansion history, places to go and much more and checked us inn. We stay at the moulins rouge’s room. Our 4 day stay was excellent as you feel like you are transported to another era. They are doing their best into taking care of this magnificent mansion which I recommend 100% if you aré inclined to feel the New Orleans glorious past

I’m staying a week at another hotel but because of my flight I needed a place to sleep when I arrived a day early. I was lucky enough to book a room at Magnolia Mansion. It was almost midnight when I arrived. I was met outside by the manager who took me directly to my room. I am now sitting on the front porch, rocking and enjoying a cup of coffee. This is a quintessential New Orleans experience. Don’t hesitate, book a room here for your next visit.

Truly the worst experience I’ve ever had at a hotel. Courtyard room 2 was dank and musty with a bed made of plastic that loudly crinkled any time you moved. The doorknob lock also did not work to keep the door closed. All of that was tolerable in an old building, but the event that the mansion hosted for hundreds of drunk college students was not. The noise of them all walking overhead was incredibly loud and impossible to drown out, and at one point some of the guests tried getting into our room to presumably find some privacy. It made for an extremely stressful several hours and a late night till we could finally fall asleep. I had never considered leaving a hotel early until this stay. Quinn and Rita (who both work at the mansion) did their best to express understanding, keep the students away from our room after they tried to get in, and asked management to call about us about the awful experience, but I never heard from them. Management clearly does not care about their guests and just wants to maximize profits. This mansion should not be hosting events while also hosting hotel guests - it is not a location equipped to handle both without it coming at the expense of the other.

We had read some negative reviews, so we called and talked to one of the new owners. He reassured our concerns. Everything was as expected. A minor issue with the temperature of our room was rectified immediately after we brought it to their attention. The music on Thursday night was a highlight of our trip. I highly recommend this place if you are wanting a unique experience instead of a cookie cutter hotel experience.

BEWARE of the new owners, if they ever open again. We had a group of 11 people with 7 rooms booked here for April 2023 and they canceled our reservation with only 2 weeks to find other accommodations. Worse yet, they have never refunded our $2,700 payment and won't communicate with us. Don't trust them!!
