Very nice place

In a good spot for buses to and from Hobart. Had plenty of parking for those with cars. TV left a lot to be desired, ie had sound but rarely picture. Heating worked well. Shower was good. Easy to hear those outside but as they tend to be trades persons they go to bed early, during the week. Bed was comfortable; small bar fridge but adequate for my needs; microwave and water jug worked well. Five minute walk from Coles and about 10 minutes to Woolworths. Have stayed there a few times and I keep coming back, especially with Trip.com prices.

Location is far from Hobart city, need your own vechile and no desk service available. Also no drinking water provided separately.

The room was spacious comfortable and clean and the daily servicing was great. The property was located very close to the town centre with everything within in a short walk. Wifi was strong and reliable.There was a lot of building work going on around which woke us very early every morning.The room could have done with more information about the facilities on offer as the reception was quite a distance from the room and only open till early evening. Checkout was done by leaving key in the room on departure.

The Kingston Hotel is worth staying if you are looking for convenience and value for money. The access to the type of reception or room service is limited. You are literally on your own. The convenience is that the rooms are cleaned daily, the crew is good and the room size is terrific with a comfortable couch and facilities. Hobart environ is smallish so the location of Kingston Hotel works well.

On arrival I was told I was upstairs, I had requested with the booking for a ground floor as Im unable to climb stairs very well I was told nothing could be done and its out of their hands, after 2nd person then looked at my booking request, they didnt care at all. I was told "I m just the barmaid, ya shoulda rung love". Very disappointed and it ruined my 3nts stay. I was also told ," ya got a cheap price what are you complaining about". I suggested the price was because Im a regular LM customer to which they cared less. Again very disappointed I would suggest a new front of house person to greet customers. Room was huge comfortable and clean. Cleaning staff where lovely and very helpful.

We stayed for nearly a week and there were pros and cons to this property and are dependent upon your needs. Pros: great size rooms, view over pond, super convenient to amenities (close to beach and shops), you can walk everywhere, cleaners were fantastic and staff were very helpful. Definitely recommend the Japanese restaurant a few steps away. This is an great cheaper option for those visiting the region for short stays. Cons: We had a door between us and the room next door. It brought new meaning to Sting's: Every breath you make, every step you take, every noise you make...I'll be hearing you. This was a huge Con for me as I value silence. The other con is the restaurant - this hotel used to be bubbly and vibrant, with difficulty getting a seat. As a former local, it now has a limited menu and passable food. So much more could be done here to make it more vibrant and inviting. It needs to compete successfully against the the beach offerings which were far superior.

Room was a great size. That’s all we can say about this property. Bed was dreadful. Had to use pillows to stop sinking in the middle. Noisy fridge. Sun standard property
