Kurulu Bay

Kurulu Bay is an architectural and decor and design triumph set in magical lush garden overlooking the lake. It is made up of villa suites which are modern and minimalist yet very luxurious. I believe there is a main house too which you can stay in. There are two pools and a beautiful spa as well as a lovely Shala where morning yoga takes place. The dining experience is brilliant and all the staff are kind and helpful. This paradise is hard to find but we were lucky enough to be told about it by Madu at Fort printers hotel where we stayed prior to visiting Kurulu Bay. This is a place to unwind and relax in nature. Die gesamte Anlage quasi mitten im Dschungel ist ein wahrer Traum. Wir buchten ein Cottage, von wo aus wir in den Bäumen herumspringende Affen (sie interessieren sich nicht für die Gäste) sowie viele bunte Vögel beobachten konnten. Der Sonnenuntergang bzw. die Aussicht von der Terrasse der Villa waren ebenfalls wunderschön. Da der Hauptpool am Restaurant während unseres Aufenthalts stets sehr gut besucht war, wichen wir auf den weiteren Pool aus und hatten diesen quasi für uns alleine. Erwähnt werden muss auf jeden Fall auch das tolle Kurulu Team nebst dem Manager Peter, der sich stets um das Wohlergehen seiner Gäste persönlich kümmert. Das hoteleigene Restaurant haben wir zu allen Mahlzeiten in Anspruch genommen. Die kreativen Gerichte sind wunderschön präsentiert, viele Zutaten frisch aus dem eigenen Garten / selbst gebacken und extrem lecker, so dass wir die Anlage zum Essengehen gar nicht verlassen haben.

Beautiful property and the hotel staff is great! A general issue we faced in SL is that the hotels either don't have a concierge or were not helpful at all in recommending activities, restaurants, agencies to book with. This was not the case here and was such a relief. Had a lovely and smooth experience booking everything. Their restaurant is great too. Just wish they had more activities and the location is hard to find on google maps.

Very sightseeing place. Wonderful naturalistic environment with the great view of the Koggala Lake. An amazing wind throughout the day, it was such a cool vibe. This place has a relaxing a**osphere. Food and drinks were very delicious with many varieties. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean and comfortable with great facilities. This was a super luxury villa. I highly recommend this place for anyone who want to have a comfortable stay in a quite relaxing environment.

Very beautiful place.Looks like a paradise.If you wanna relax this is the ideal place.Several rooms of good quality.There is a splendid view from the rooms with a view of the lake.They have a very friendly and supportive staff.The yoga class and the spa of Kurulu bay is really worth.The place is very quiet and peaceful.Dont miss this place if you are visiting Galle.I am coming back definitely.Highly recommended!

An oasis of calm on the shore of Koggala Lake but only minutes from nearby beaches. The gardens are sublime, the staff attentive and caring, and the food a real feature of the hotel. It is well located for exploring the surrounding area, and when you return each night, when compared to the outside world, you feel you are somewhere very special.

We visited Kurulu Bay and came to heaven as soon as we left our Tuk Tuk and entered this magical place. The location and the surroundings make you feel like you’ve entered a whole new world - and the calm sensation in your body appears immediately. The architecture, care for the surroundings and the jungle is beautiful, always with a great lake view. The food is really good and Petar and his fellow team is doing an amazing job to create memorable experiences - the service is on top! We’re definitely coming back and are already now planning for our next visit - since this is the closest you’ll come to enlightenment, with good value for money!

Cannot rave about this hotel more, it was amazing. Rooms were beautiful, location was fantastic, the restaurant served us some of the best food we had during our whole Sri Lanka trip & lastly the service from the moment we arrived to when we checked out was amazing. We did a Pilates class on site organised by the hotel which was great and lovely calm view over looking the lake. Even though the hotel is situated a drive away from the main town, the hotel organised us a tuktuk driver who was always with us within 10 minutes of requesting. Only thing that was a little disappointing was none of the hotel staff had any restaurant or bar recommendations in Ahangama so we had to do all the research ourselves for afternoons out…. Watch out for the cheeky monkeys at breakfast time 😂🍌
