Bab Al Nojoum – Al Mugheirah Resort

My stay was fantastic. From the warm welcome to the attentive service, everything exceeded expectations. The room was spotless, and incredibly comfortable. I loved the temperature controlled pool with stunning bay views. Dining experience was exceptional with plenty of options. A truly seamless and relaxing experience. Can’t wait to return!

We find ourselves visiting this place over and over again, drawn by its serenity and the closeness to nature. Regardless of the fully booking status, the resort remains sparsely populated, privacy and tranquility assured. Staff are generally courteous and accommodating, went above and beyond to extend their hospitality. The cabins are looking a bit tired due to wear and tear, not a hindrance to us at all.

Best hotel stay

We’ve always loved Bab Al Nojoum Al Mugheirah, and over the years, we’ve introduced many friends and family to this special place. Unfortunately, after our 4th stay, we left feeling disappointed. The location is still beautiful, and the cabins are well-maintained, which we truly love. One minor issue, though, was with the bikes – they need some maintenance, as the gear mechanisms or shift levers no longer work properly. But that's a small issue compared to the bigger letdowns. The real issue was with the hospitality. It felt like the warmth we used to feel from the staff was just not there anymore. A particularly frustrating experience was when we had to wait over an hour for a bucket of ice. We followed up multiple times through calls and messages, and even had friends go to the reception to check in person. They were told to go back to the Airstream and wait for the ice. It’s those little details that really make a difference, and it felt like the staff in the front office or reservations doesn’t care anymore. (Thank you, Alex, for bringing the bucket of ice and doing your best to fix the situation.) Another disappointment was the lack of information about activities. In the past, we were given a full list of things to do, but this time we only got a quick briefing about the resort. The activities were still listed on the website, but we didn’t feel like the staff was making an effort to keep us informed or engaged. We were also very interested in upgrading to half board. I had asked about it in an email before our arrival, and we inquired about dinner a couple of times once we got there. The only response we received was the rate. There was no effort to encourage us or provide more details, so we decided to leave and eat outside instead. (Sad we only met Ronald the next morning, who had the same enthusiasm as in our previous visits – we could have stayed for dinner. He is truly an asset.) The most frustrating part of the stay was the unexpected charge for the kayak activity. We were charged 270 dirhams, but no one mentioned that it was chargeable, and we were clueless especially because we’ve done it for free during our previous visits. We had communicated with the staff several times about the booking, but at no point was it mentioned that there was a charge. When we were checking out, that was the only time we found out they were charging us for the activity. We weren’t given an apology or even an acknowledgment of the mistake, which felt very unprofessional. At the end of the day, it’s the people that make an experience unforgettable, and unfortunately, this time, the lack of hospitality left us feeling let down. Bab Al Nojoum has always been a special place for us, but this time it didn’t live up to what it used to be. Hospitality is a huge factor, and I hope they can get back to the high standards we once loved.

Property was away from the city and was very relaxing. Some of the staff was superb. Ami, CC, Bilal was friendly. But the most impressive one was Soliman. The plunge pool was very good. All Inclusive package was a good add-on, but the food was the same every day. Breakfast was very bad. The food was the same, the bread was old and the cheese was dry and old. In the pool, even the water bottles are chargeable despite its all-inclusive pacakge. Sometimes, you have to request the same thing a couple of times. Water bottles are environmentally friendly but not sealed. Bathroom water doesn't drain. Rather, I will have to wait till it dries. Activities are there, but most of the things are not open. You will be just dropped in the activity locations, and you have to figure it out from there. The main pool was very cold, especially the kid's pool. The first day, we were told it would get hot automatically due to the sun. It didn't happened and on the 2nd day, we insisted on making it hot, so they switched on the temperature control. Lastly, despite it being not busy, we stayed for 2 nights all inclusive; for late checkout till 3pm (only), we asked 2 times but only managed to get till 2.30pm. I found it unreasonable, especially since we had lunch also for the same day. Good relaxing stay but lot to improve.

We decided on a different 2 night family staycation compared to normal hotels and beaches. On arrival we were greeted with 5* service, the area explained and all that we could see and do on our trip. We were taking tk our modified container and were stunned out how spacious and perfect the accommodation is. 2 bedroom, bathroom lounge and small kitchen indoor. Plus a seating area and plunge pool outdoor. The perfect place to chill out, We got on our bikes and we explored passing the running and jumping gazelles as we rode. Working up a sweat we returned to the Oasis pool where we spent a few hours chilling. Kayaking, walking, cycling, swimming, table tennis and chilling the perfect get away from our busy lives. Food was good, would like to have seen a little more selection as I would imagine if coming for more than 2 nights it might get repetitive, quality and quantity could not fault. All the staff ensured that we had everything we needed, it would be unfair to highlight one. We will be back. Thank you
