阿爾耶斯卡度假村(Alyeska Resort)

This resort is great for snow sports and the beauty of the location. The lodging is a different story. This would have been a cool place to stay 30 years ago but the rooms themselves are quite outdated, with small beds for their advertised size (queen seemed like a small full) and damaged light fixtures in the room revealing exposed insulation or dust (not pretty and possibly unsafe). Additionally, the AC was not working so the room temperature was at least 76 degrees the entire stay despite a loud fan running in the ventilation system. There was no remote control for the TV so stations and volume had to be adjusted manually. By the time these issues were discovered at night, staff was not around to assist. Points were taken off for cleanliness of the room due to excessive dust. Also, hairs and mold were found inside the fruit cup purchased from the coffee shop. To top it off, they charged my credit card $50 for drinking the “complimentary” bottled water… This charge normally would not bother me but was very irritating given the lack of working AC. Do not recommend! Extremely overpriced given their lack of basic expectations such as a reasonable room temperature and a safe environment.

What a lovely place! We totally enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very pleasant and one of the best beds and pillows I have had at a hotel yet! They kept the heat at 73… a bit warm for us, but the fan made it pleasant. We skiied 2 days and used our IKON pass to access the tram after skiing.

7 Glaciers Restaurant was so great, I find it hard to believe it’s in any way affiliated with ALYESKA Resort. Our gloomy, dated, shabby room was not cleaned once during our 4-day stay. The bathtub drains so slowly that it’s icky taking a shower in standing water. Overpriced, mediocre restaurants in the hotel are (under) staffed with mostly pleasant, well-intentioned waitstaff who are spread way too thin … awful service, mostly not their fault. Where is management? Arrogant, haughty front desk guy (minimum wage?). THIS. IS. NOT. A LUXURY. RESORT. They bill it as such, but it’s a disaster. The only thing that’s luxury is the amazing location … too bad the resort falls so short of expectations.

Shuttle service is non existent, hotel doesn’t have much for dining and just outright seems dead. Nothing is open past 9pm. Just not a whole lot going on with the tram down for maintenance and then rates are still sky high for whatever reason. Lift tickets will be at their highest rate ever this year. This resort is definitely geared toward rich older folk and tourists now with the new owner.

During the off season (non ski season) , this is a terribly boring resort with absolutely nothing going on. Hotel bar is currently closed, everything closes early, shuttle runs whenever it feels like, which is almost never. The hotel is super dated and rooms smell but are still pretty decent. Definitely not worth it unless you are doing the Nordic spa but even then thats pushing it. Lift ticket prices keep going up with less to offer.

I paid over $500 a night for a view of a fence. The room was super old, very dirty, unsafe and a dump. I’m local and I will not be recommending it to friends or family, nor will I be staying there again!!!

The interaction with staff has been unfriendly from the check in time. No smile, bad attitude and short answers. The bathroom is old and bathtub is tiny. It didn’t drain well. Called the front desk about it she said “ok” no apologies and didn’t take any action. This is for $400 room. Do not stay here.
