瑪特洛特酒店(Hotel Matelote)

Drie nachten verbleven in dit kleinschalige en knusse hotel. Werden verwelkomd door de zeer vriendelijke en enthousiaste eigenaar Eric, die een hoop kon vertellen over de stad. Kregen een upgrade, omdat we meerdere nachten verbleven. Kamer 5 op de bovenste verdieping was een megagrote kamer en dito badkamer. Ruimte genoeg voor al je spullen. Voorzien van een koelkastje, kluisje, grote kast voor je kleding, heerlijke douche en prima bedden. Wel een flinke tippel naar boven via wat steile trappen (3); niet geschikt voor mensen die slecht ter been zijn. Hotel heeft een perfecte ligging in een redelijk rustige (zij)straat, zo goed als in het historische centrum. Enige kleine minpuntje was het wat karige ontbijt. Keuze te over aan allerlei soorten muesli's, maar 2 soorten (hartig) broodbeleg. Wel heerlijk verse broodjes. Absolute aanrader.

Ein sehr charmantes kleines Hotel in zentraler Lage. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Zimmer und Bad waren sauber, sehr geräumig und sehr hübsch und modern eingerichtet. Die Lage zum Innenhof sorgte für entsprechende Ruhe trotz zentraler Lage. Zum Frühstück gab es ein sehr liebevoll hergerichtetes Buffet, alles sehr appetitlich und schmackhaft. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt.

Top hotel, midden in het oude centrum en toch zeer rustig gelegen, super vriendelijke eigenaar, mooie ruime kamer, airco, volledig ingerichte badkamer. Heerlijk (simpel) vers ontbijt, brood was net bij de buurtbakker gehaald, goede koffie. Tip, Boek rechtstreeks bij het hotel :-)

Hotel met een ideale ligging, midden in het centrum. Hele vriendelijke eigenaar, denkt goed met je mee. Hotel is oke, de bedden liggen erg lekker maar onze kamer was vrij krap. Goed werkend douche, alles was schoon. In de ochtend een prima ontbijt, niet super uitgebreid maar prima.

Hôtel très bien placé, proche de tout, au calme, avec une ambiance vraiment agréable. Accueil très sympa et très accueillant. Chambre propre, très fonctionnelle et jolie. On s'y sent très bien. Petit déjeuner complet. Ce fut une très bonne étape pour visiter la ville.

This hotel is perfectly located, in a very quiet lane right in the historic centre. Very comfortable rooms, with all the usual amenities. The rooms we had were accessed by a small spiral staircase, so perhaps not ideal for those with mobility issues, but other rooms are available. Good quality breakfast. The owner is very friendly and helpful.

I wasn’t quite sure what to make of the place when I first arrived – there was no lift, although the stairs were manageable - but I was absolutely blown away by the place. The proprietor could not have been nicer, and spent several minutes going over a map he gave me and recommending the various Christmas markets I wanted to see. He allowed me to check in around 10:30 AM and upgraded my room to one that was at the top of the hotel, which had exposed wood beams still supported by the pegs that had been driven into them hundreds and hundreds of years ago. The room was extremely spacious, the bathtub was amazing, and it was the coolest hotel I stayed in by far during my trip to Europe. There is no on-site parking available – you’re at a garage about a five minute walk away, but unlike other places I stayed while I was there I felt very safe navigating to the garage when I had to go to the car. I left before breakfast started, so I wasn’t able to check that out. Even though the Christmas markets in Belgium I thought were a little disappointing compared to their brethren in Germany, this location is perfect to check them out. The overall hospitality and vibe of the hotel made it a fantastic stay! Highly recommend.

Very nice place right in the old town. Close to lots of food and drink and all the sights of Antwerp. The staff were also super nice and helpful.
