We had a lovely stay at Babcock House! Our room was beautifully furnished and comfortable, and we enjoyed the shared spaces as well. We had two delicious breakfasts and a fantastic dinner. Our hosts were gracious and accommodating, really tending to every detail. The location is great for exploring Appomattox. I highly recommend staying here and make sure you sign up for dinner too!

We loved our stay at the Babcock House. We stayed for 2 nights to visit Appomattox. The owners do a great job keeping up the place and the breakfasts were wonderful. If we are ever here in the future, The Babcock House will be the place to stay!

You choose to stay at a BnB for the experience. The history, the story, the social fellowship, the opportunity to immerse yourself in something that’s not your everyday. Talia was working the back garden when we arrived and we had a pleasant interaction. We were there to visit Historic Appomattox and the location is convenient. Their emailed communication was clear and access was straightforward. We needed to refreeze packs for our cooler and they had a “house access” appliance. Carmine’s Pizza was an easy walk - pizza comes in only one large size but they also had other menu items-it was good. Talia inquired about our time preference and dietary desires for breakfast. We slept peacefully-clean, comfortable, we loved the interior shutters for room darkening. The linens were adequate, bath items were locally crafted. Breakfast was a delight, foods from their garden included, well prepared and nicely presented. Who can’t love French Press coffee?! Overall, a nice experience! We would book again.

Talia and Charles have created a wonderful experience for their guests. The historic house is beautiful and the rooms are so comfortable. They were both so accommodating and went over and above to insure a 5 star experience. Talia is an absolute gem and Charles is a great chef whose breakfasts and dinners are absolutely second to none. The dinner package is a must. The Babcock House is a destination for future visits. And the history of Appomattox is awesome. Don’t miss this one.

One of the finest B&B’s I have stayed in. We stayed in the Patterson Room just completed last year and it was beautiful, large, quiet and it had a wonderful bathroom with a large soaking tub and oversized shower. We had dinner and breakfast which were both outstanding. They only serve guests so it is very intimate and the food was great. If you are traveling anywhere near Appomattox, this is a must stay.

We loved our stay. The inn was beautiful. The evenings we enjoyed sitting on the screened in Porch. During the day we enjoyed the area and went to Lynchburg. Our room was clean & comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful! This was a last minute trip but I wish we booked early enough to have dinner at the inn. You have to book dinner 3 days in advance. A couple we met said the dinner was amazing !

This is an awesome B&B. It is a must stay if you are ever near Appomattox, VA. The home is gorgeous, the rooms are beautiful, spacious and so comfortable. We didn't want to leave and plan on going back as soon as we can. Talia was a most gracious hostess and chef. The breakfast was awesome. This was our first stay at the Babcock House . It was a quick overnight stay. The overall experience was great. The House and rooms are beautiful. The hosts were very nice. I had lost a Necklace and I by chance called to see If left it there. I must say the most thing I appreciated was the help. They were honest in turning it in and the host was gracious enough to send it to me Thank you!!

I was looking for last minute accommodations for a disc golf event in the area when we came across the Babcock House. This place was absolutely beautiful. The rooms were clean, and the ambiance was as equally refreshing. The inn keepers were extremely polite and accessible during our stay The breakfast was fresh and filling, especially the home-made jam. This place is a 10 out of 10 and a perfect fit, even for last minute stays.

This sweet B & B is a delight. The Patterson Room has such lovely appointments- everything was chosen with care. The dinner was fabulous. I had shrimp and grits with a delicious Old Bay sauce. My husband had a ***** steak which he said was one of the most flavorful he had ever eaten. The flatbread appetizer was perfect. I was tempted to swill down the sauce left from the banana foster for dessert. The breakfast the next morning was equally delicious. Fresh fruit with yogurt and granola followed by spinach omelet with sausage and fried onions. The homemade blackberry preserves reminded me of my grandma’s. We cannot wait to return.

The lovely Byron room at Babcock House was a quiet, comfortable place for a short getaway for my husband and me. The room was comfortable and clean and we slept very well. The bathroom was spotless and I loved the scent of the soaps and lotions provided. The breakfasts on both mornings were delicious and pretty enough to photograph (even though I didn't). I would recommend Babcock House to anyone looking for a quiet getaway. The price was extremely reasonable considering the quality of the breakfast and the accommodations.

From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcomed and valued. Talia and Charles were attentive without being obsequious. Friendly and gracious. The breakfasts were fresh and filing, the room (the Patterson Room) was well-appointed and comfortable. We would certainly stay here again!

We stayed here for one night to be close to the Appomattox Civil War museum. The hotel is very nice and clean and full of character. The hosts are very helpful and responsive and the bed is very comfortable. The breakfast was a little basic but other than that would highly recommend it for a short stay. There is not much to do in the area though if you are looking for more activities that are not Civit War related, there are very limited options for restaurants and bars.
