I will make this review as fair as possible and start by saying that this is a 3 star hotel at best and I’m used to staying at 5 star hotels. This hotel was arranged as part of our mid-range safari package. Pros: -Close proximity to Arusha airport, approx 30-40min drive (I think; I wasn’t paying too much attention) -The food in the restaurant is very tasty and affordable I had Kuku Paka and it was lovely, the chicken was well cooked and the sauce was very tasty; it is a mild sauce and wasn’t spicy at all, it cost 30,000 Tzs (approx £15). I also had the green mountain cocktail which was very nice and cost 15,000 Tzs (approx £5). The fresh juices are also very nice, we had pineapple juice and watermelon juice. -Breakfast was very nice and had a good selection of fruits, pastries, freshly cooked omelettes, sweet potato and baked beans, amongst other items. I was very well fed! -Staff are very friendly and helpful -We had been booked a standard room as part of our safari package and the hotel upgraded us to a deluxe room. The room was ok and pretty basic but had everything we needed for 1 night stay- comfy bed, TV (we didn’t use it as we had our iPad), spacious room, toiletries in bathroom, towels, safe in room (we didn’t use) -There is an outdoor swimming pool with some loungers around it, it looked pretty cosy and we saw people enjoying it but we didn’t make use of it. Cons: -The bathroom consisted of a sink, toilet and shower, however the shower didn’t have a cubicle/shower screen and was more like a wet room but as the shower was next to the toilet it meant the whole bathroom, including the toilet, got soaked after each shower. There is a hot water switch to provide hot water but I found the hot water only lasted a little while before running out. At first I thought it was because the switch wasn’t on for long enough before my first shower but the same thing happened the next morning after the switch had been on all night! The shower was scalding hot for a few mins then very lukewarm/cold. -We were in room 201, which was directly above reception and when I woke up during the night I could hear the telephone ringing (I woke up naturally rather than being woken up). I could also hear dogs barking at one point but it didn’t last long and I was already awake at this point -Tea and coffee is provided in the room but no kettle! I don’t drink tea and coffee anyway but this might be an issue if you do. I imagine they would provide one if you ask but I would expect it to be provided. -The fridge is quite noisy and can get a bit annoying but I got used to it after a while. I think the fan/motor switches on and off sporadically throughout the day/night. As I said, this is a lower standard of hotel than I’m used to staying at but it was very ok for what it was. If you’re used to 3 star hotels then this should be ok for you, if you’re used to 5 star hotels then manage your expectations, after all it would be unfair to compare apples to oranges! I w
