This would have to be one of the worst motels I have stayed in. The location was dreadful being on Gympie Road, but also they had some makeshift construction fencing up and it was difficult to get near your room. The Management made themselves scarce, you had to phone them when you got there even though it was about 3.30pm in the afternoon and then they came down out of nowhere told you you what room you were in and just as quickly slid off, before you could ask for some milk etc. they had a couple of tiny little UHT Milk things (not the 150ml) which was useless for a cuppa. The noise of Gympie Road was dreadful there was no ground area you could walk around as it was all fenced off. The overhead bedlights, were half off the wall and did not work, ours had a kitchenette in it, with 3 odd plates, 2 plastic badly crazed bowls and 3 knives spoons and forks and a couple of teaspoons, lucky I had my picnic set with me, because the motel crockery and cutlery looked very suss. The only thing going for it was the comfortable bed, although very soft. The curtains were just hanging there, threadbare mismatched.

Motel is currently going through renovations, however that is no excuse for the dump site and dirty units that are still being charged at full price! I was looking forward to having a swim in the pool as per the web photos, however the pool was half empty with murky water, drink bottles and other rubbish floating in it, as for the barbecue area, that no longer exists, it was just one pile of rubble. They advertise that they have luggage storage, my luggage was stored on a back walkway in the rain, so some of my clothes were wet. Although it was muggy, I decided not to use the air conditioning unit as it was full of dust & goodness knows what else, there were cracks on the walls and ceiling the fridge freezer was old and rusty and in the freezer area I was looking forward to some ice cubes but what I found was freezer ice everywhere as per my photo. I was worried about how secure the unit was due to the fact that the ranch slide I looked as if it had been Jimmied open at some point. I'm so glad I only had to spend one night there and was worried I would wake up the next morning with bed bug bites, lucky though I didn't. I had a word with the new owner and managed to get a slight discount on my price due to the fact that my luggage got wet and I was unable to use the pool that was advertised. I will not be staying here again!

The only positive I have about this place is that the staff were friendly at check-in. From there it went downhill. The glass sliding door to the room was extremely hard to lock, took minutes every single time to try and open or lock once inside. The rooms were in a very rough state, damaged walls, peeling paint, mold on the ceilings, ripped and filth curtain in the bathroom, marked and damaged shower curtain (the fact that motels are still even using these things should be illegal) and carpet that I was afraid to walk on barefoot. Aircon didn’t keep the room cool no matter how low the temp was and it made the room smell damp. Would definitely avoid this place. I only stayed 2 nights and that was 2 too many.

Disgusting conditions. We were greeted by a dirty glass sliding door and from there it went down hill. Carpets in night clubs are cleaner. Drinking glasses were grubby, fridge unclean, walls stained and peeling. Rubbish bins not emptied, ***** hairs on the toilet seats and no fresh towels; in fact there was an old towel hanging behind the bathroom door. Do NOT book here!

This motel is not looking in good shape, from the outside and the inside. Front fence falling down and the room we had was very run down. Well below average and needing full renovation. E.g. door lock damaged but working; flimsy and worn shelves, lounge and coffee table; ceiling repaint required after change to light fittings; old and smelly cupboards; dodgy/unprofessional repairs to bathroom fittings and shower recess; some mould present in shower recess; painted over tiles appear to have been peeling for a long time; insufficient and unclean crockery.

Aspley Motor Inn, Brisbane QLD Stayed: July 2024 Fairly good value and reasonable motel, in an OK location. Room was a bit tired; but clean, functional, with a few little kitchenette facilities & small fridge. TV was OK, aircon fairly modern & worked well. Shower & bathroom also somewhat dated; but again clean & did the trick. Bed had no handy power points along it’s bedhead wall & somewhat strange (inadequate) little modern storage shelves either side that were just big enough to be some use. Car parking right out front of each room is handy, access to driveway is easy, though the very busy road nearby had plenty of traffic noise noticeable in the room at times. Within handy cycling distance of Zillmere parkrun. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, not a bad choice of accom in that area – will consider again in future if need be.

I stayed here MANY years ago and it was a great place to stay so didn’t hesitate to book it again. Starting with the good points, the manager was really friendly, it’s in a fantastic location, close to both Aspley and Chermside shopping centres and surrounded by a large range of food choices. The beds were comfortable. There was a jug, tea and coffee supplies and a microwave. Unfortunately that’s where the good points end. As soon as I opened the door, as someone who suffers from a dust allergy, I knew the room hadn’t been dusted as my airways started to close over. As I walked around the room it became evident just how much dust there was. There was mould on the bathroom ceiling, only sheets on the beds and with 2 singles and 1 double bed and only 1 single doona and 1 very thin small single blanket in the cupboard, it meant there was inadequate bedding. The heater was very noisy and made a loud groaning noise but due to the lack of blankets we had to keep the heater on, therefore no one got any sleep. The shower gel was not refilled prior to our arrival. The other liquids were filled. We had to kill 2 roaches in the room during our stay. There’s paint peeling off in large amounts. With the amount of people coming and going through the place they could definitely afford to maintain it.

Great value motor inn situated on the service road adjacent to Gympie Road at Aspley. Great rooms with comfy Beds and a great shower. The owners are great and easy to get information from them. The rooms have jug toaster Microwave and bar size fridge. I would highly recommend this motel and i would use again.

Very upset , have stayed at this motel for 14 years and since the last lot of managers have taken it over it has gone down hill big time . Was in Chermside on business for 4 days . Arrived at the motel on Thursday to a room that smelt funky . On Saturday morning we asked if we could have fresh towels , toilet paper , and coffee and tea. To this the manger replied,” this is a budget motel and we don’t change towels , or anything for 4 days “ scoffed at us and walked away . No where does it state that it is a budget motel it is actually more expensive then a few others around as well. I think it was very disgusting that the motel would not supply clean towels or basic hygiene products like toilet paper . We had to go and purchase our own . The towel was ripped and didn’t smell clean even on arrival so we had to go out and buy towels so we could have a shower . The motel has never been like this in the past . We travel for work regularly and have stayed in hundreds of motels and have NEVER been denied basic items like fresh towels and toilet paper . We even left some of the toilet paper we bought for the next guest so they didn’t have the issues we had .Last time we stayed there for 4 days and was sick for 2 weeks after the stay . Not ever going back . Stay clear of this place .

Easy to locate, close to airport & shopping mall. Friendly welcome & farewell. Very clean & tidy, great to have some cutlery, crockery, fridge, microwave & toaster although a pub is within walking distance. Quiet even when so close to motorway great sleep & shower. Will stay again & recommend to others.

Older style motor inn - great location and easy to find. Close to everything including airport. Good parking spots, comfy beds, so clean, room has microwave toaster fridge. Great value for the price. Very inexpensive for Brisbane. Awesome for a stopover in Brisbane prior to flight or cruise.

Very friendly at reception when checking in, offered places for dinner. Room was simple but cosy, aircon, eztra blankets which ever you prefer. Beds very comfortable for a great nights sleep. Nice relaxing pool area. Close to shops and surroundings. Will stay again when in area again next year.
