Arista is a FANTASTIC host who truly cares about your experience in Athens. He took the time to make us a coffee, gave us bottles of water every time we came back from our adventures in Athens, allowed us to chill out and freshen up before our evening flight, booked us a taxi to the airport and recommended the most incredible restaurant called Rozalia around a 7 minute walk from the hotel. He honestly was the most kind and caring host. We 100% recommend this hotel! The rooms are very spacious, the decor is very modern and the hospitality we received was truly wonderful. We will be returning in the near future.

Arista is by far the most welcoming host that my partner and I have ever met. I needed extra pillows as I live with an lot of pain and he gave me a choice of 3 types, as many as I needed, and even offered to contact his doctor friend if I needed something more specialist. He always offered us coffee in the morning and a drink with him in the evening. When I told him it was my birthday he left me a gift. He told me where the nice places were to go, marked them on a map, booked taxis for us, helped us plan an island trip, would give us water every day… The hotel itself is really nice and clean, very comfortable, cool decoration, good showers and aircon. Five stars from us - thank you Aris, you are a gentleman! Xx

The hotel is situated a 20 min walk from Syntagma square (city centre). When we arrived, the area felt a bit rough around the edges at first but this was a misconception on our part. When the evening came the restaurant’s opened up and the streets filled with life. The hotel itself was absolutely lovely and I really cannot say enough good things about the manager and the staff. They were so accommodating and lovely during our entire stay, always recommended places to see, providing water or whatever beverage we would’ve wanted when coming back after a full day of exploring. The manager even provided his number to keep if anything happened when we were out! The level of English was very good, no communication issues at all. The room was brilliant, big and with a very comfy bed! Big bathroom and everything was super clean and comes with tea and coffee. Lastly, there are two supermarkets within a 2 min walk from the hotel so if you don’t want to eat out every night there are options. If you go to Athens, this is a brilliant place to stay! Nous avons reçu un excellent accueil par le patron qui est dispo 24/24 en cas de besoin/problème. L’hôtel est propre et bien tenu. La chambre au dernier étage comportait une grande baignoire à remous. Un peu excentré du centre de la ville, ça permet au moins de voir un peu plus la vie locale et pas que des touristes. Seul bémol, le quartier qui est globalement laid - tous les murs sont tagués- et semble être envahie par l’extrême gauche locale.

The hotel was conveniently located, clean, comfortable and freshly decorated. Despite arriving at 2am for check-in, the owner had saved us on-street parking and provided us with refreshments on arrival. Very good value for money and extremely helpful host who was kind and knowledgeable. All in cannot rate the hotel highly enough for value and service.

Een mooi en fris hotel met een zeer warm welkom 😊 heerlijke douche, airco die je niet hoort, s nachts rustig om lekker te kunnen slapen. een aanrader om heen te gaan, mooie bakker in de buurt genaamd Stores en super gezellig restaurant met zeer vriendelijke bediening en lekker eten!

5 stars, our stay during our trip to Greece was probably even better than 5 stars. Before departing from the US we read countless news articles that exarchia was dangerous and should not be traveled to. However, upon arrival at Alter Athens not only were we not in any danger in the are, the hotel staff and owner (Aristo) were unbelievably warm and welcome. Offering us coffee in the mornings and stayed up hanging out and having good chat with them during the nighttime. Aristo is a great man and I will stay with him again and again when I return to Athens. As far as rooms are concerned, the beds do the job just fine when returning from a long day of sight seeing, the appliances are all updated as well. Overall this is a wonderful place to stay as this hotel checks all the boxes!

We have just returned from a long weekend in Athens. We had a wonderful stay in this hotel. It is a great location very close to the centre of Athens. There are lots of cafes, bars and restaurants nearby and easy to access transport links to the airport and tourist attractions. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. They gave us recommendations for restaurants and bars. They advised us about the best times to visit attractions and ways to get there. They made us feel very welcome, from our arrival to departure nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms were extremely clean and comfortable. We couldn’t fault them and were excellent value for money. We will definitely return.
