極光客棧(The Aurora Inn Hotel and Event Center)

Beautiful inside and out. Aurora is a very cute town and the Aurora Inn gives a different vibe than commercial hotel chains. We even were upgraded to a nicer room upon arrival. The robes available in the room were a nice surprise. Cute minimalistic decor makes it more like a boutique hotel.

The place was amazing and cute upon arrival. I was exited to stay somewhere so neat and clean. Everyone was very happy to help and had smiles on their face except for the owner. She could be heard discussing employees poorly and just did not seem happy to be there. Otherwise besides feeling awkward at times especially when having breakfast she walked by me three times before saying good morning or acknowledge my presence. Smiles go a long way!!

My parents, now gone, lived in this area so, we have used Aurora Inn in our family for years. Check-in and out was so easy. We were going to a Guardians game with family, some living in Aurora, and were hoping to check in one hour early. My husband was told $50. up-charge! I would rather have staff tell us 'sorry, but we are unable to do that today'. My sister asked for a late checkout and told an up-charge also. Price for room is already at higher end so, with this I will book elsewhere in the future. We came back at 10pm to check in after being in downtown Cleveland.

Great stay while passing through, quiet, clean, and comfortable. Note to arriving guests the restaurant was packed and stopped serving at 9pm? or possibly 10 but with a long wait time because it was packed and there were not a whole lot of other options around.... coffee in the morning was very nice.

The inn was very cute and updated, and our kids loved the pool. Unfortunately, there was a wedding taking place the weekend we were there, which took up most of the staffs and facilities bandwidth. The restaurant and bar was closed both days we were there, and there was zero parking while the event was taking place. It's a lovely place but maybe they should warn other guests that amenities are not available while they are hosting events.

The Aurora Inn is just OK. The hotel and facilities are clean and the beds (in the deluxe queen room) were comfortable. The bathroom was is bit tight, and the barn-style pocket door did not close particularly well, and so the bathroom did not feel very private while doing one's business. Would also have liked a fan in the bathroom. The breakfast was so-so in terms of the offerings, and on our second day we had to go scrounging for cups for coffee. But the location was convenient for our purposes and the staff were all super.

Old school A/C was tricky to maintain & probably didn't need it to run all night, but wasn't able to find the right setting. Sad that the pool was inaccessible, and thought I'd at least be able to work out in the morning, but couldn't get in to explore the area. Otherwise, charming & good for a quick visit to the area.

Arrived at 9pm, one bedside lamp did not work (pull chain stuck), had dark shades for window but bright light from hallway shone around entire door. Next door was a family ( baby and child) crying and being disciplined to not lock the door very clearly. I'm sure if I have my TV on, they could hear it clearly. They texted me on arrival (at 10:06pm) that Aika could assist me through my stay. Next morning I texted them the issue. The next text said thank you for chosing Aurura Inn, rate it 1-5, I said a 2 just like this ******* rating. Next text said please provide further feedback on rating. I cut/paste earlier comment. Last text was so sorry that your stay was less than satisfactory. Thank you for your feedback! And I was on my way, even less satisfied that my feedback was handwaved by the provided concierge.

Possibly the most surreal exchanges we’ve had with a hotel desk clerk ever. She wasn’t able to give directions, had no restaurant recommendations and couldn’t even be bothered to find out the hours of the hotel’s restaurant. We found it overpriced and underwhelming.
