I've stayed at a few properties in the Vail/Breckenridge/Avon area and this is my favorite so far. I have not stayed at the Ritz or Grand Hyatt in Vail and those may change my mind but I digress. It's worth noting that there are only a little over 30 villas available at the vacation club property so booking here during ski season is very difficult. I stayed in a 1 BR villa on the 3rd floor with a view of the gondola. The bathroom was really nice with a separate soaking tub and walkin shower. The sofa has a short back and made it awkward to lean back on. That was my only critique of the villa. It's true that the vacation club building has no amenities. I chose to walk through the garage to get to the hotel building rather than walking outside. The 3 large outdoor hot tubs made the effort worth it. The hot tubs here are better than the other ski properties I have stayed at. It's also true that the property is not on the Beaver Creek mountain. I was here the week before the gondola was running. While there are numerous free shuttle and bus options, I chose to drive and park at the mountain for convenience. The drive is not far at all. I also attended a sale meeting. I did not feel pressured. I was looking for an option that would ideally guarantee me a ski week here or improve my chances, but since they are not selling weeks anymore, there are no options to guarantee a reservation. I passed on making a purchase. Beaver Creek turned out to be really fun even though the mountain was partially open during early December. I would love to come back again and would even stay at the nearby Sheraton Mountain Villas (while clearly a downgrade, the property is fine) if the Westin Riverfront is not available.

Excellent accommodations, everything was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly, many activities in the lobby and beautiful views. We loved the look out bar, the gym and the hot tubs. The hotel is very pet friendly. Do yourself a favor and go to this resort when you get a chance. Completely worth it. We will def be back.

Wow we have been owners here for probably ten years with a fixed week at Thanksgiving. We are platinum owners with Bonvoy which means we have invested a lot of money into time shares and tend to use Marriott hotels to earn points. STAY AWAY. Do not buy into their sales pitches. They outright lied to us in St, John, selling us an inexpensive time share which would put us into the category of having access to travel advisors to help Is plan trips. We bought and then when we went to take advantage of the service found out it did not exist and the salesperson oils not return our outreach. Here in Avon, we arrived and we were allotted a suite in the basement and were told there was nothing they could do, despite our deep investment in the time share part of Marriott. The front desk said they were not responsible and there was no one on staff at the local vacation club office who was on duty. They said that rooms were assigned based on when the reservation was placed. Our confirmation email Said we had made the reservation more than a year before and the confirmation said that rooms would be assigned at check in and someone is not telling the truth. In addition, while for ten plus years there have been cool mist dehumidifiers in the rooms to help with how bone dry it is here, when I called their service line to ask for one, they said they had been removed due to concerns over liability. They suggested I go to Walmart and buy my own . All in all, they seem To have perfected the script that there is nothing they can do. I believe they are not telling the truth. Very disappointing and such a downgrade to how things used to be.

Awesome! What great customer service. The villas are beautiful and the people are so nice. The room is fabulous. Didn’t try the hot tube are pool but many people were enjoying . Just minutes away from Vail village and Lionshead. This is worth the stay and trip, will be bringing the family back for vacation.

This was our first time in Avon and we couldn’t recommend the Westin Hotel more! From the reception, to drivers, staff, house keeping, everything was truly amazing. The location is walkable to everything downtown. There’s also couple of jacuzzis and pool, perfect for relaxing after a days hike. We are definitely staying here again!

This was our first time visiting the Avon location (our home base is St. John) and we were blown away by both the villas and the resort grounds! The two bedrooms in the villa were highly spacious but also clean and updated. Loved the balconies in each room. Furthermore, we couldn’t get enough of the pool! Such a pleasant feeling to lounge by the pool and soak up the views of the mountain, and it was so refreshing to go for a swim. The food and drink by the pool was also great. We also loved going for walks along the river. Overall, this was a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to go back!

As i write this workers installing ice cube maker in my room. Wake up every morning to sound of construction and heavy deliveries. You get to move from one room to another due to construction. Lost two days out of seven days due to construction move. I was place on a newly renovated floor on second day. Clue should have been the hardboard lined elevator cabs. Rooms missing appliances, missing furniture and overall rushed build out. Hallways smell of fresh paint. Workers are nice but managers and management could care less. No offer of compensation for disruption of our stay. I am a Westin Vistana Owner, very disappointed with my stay. Signs say under construction until summer of 2024. I am not only one. Saw one other guest moving his things in a laundry basket to a room across the hall. When i asked he stated too many things just did not work in his renovated room. This was supposed to be a finished floor.

We spent 4 days at the Westin Riverfront and had such a ball! The atmosphere, amenities, room quality and location were fantastic! Our 8 year old daughter loved the pool and the path by the river, and we all loved the fabulous lobby and friendly staff! Worth every penny and we’ll be back during ski season! The hotel employees should feel proud of the great work they do. Thank you!

We have always stayed in the hotel at this resort but chose the villas this time. We were not disappointed, every convenience of home that we needed was provided. We stayed in a studio villa for 7 nights and had a south view ( not River view) and although we would have preferred River view, our balcony had mountain views and nice pine and aspen trees off the deck. The resort itself is definitely one of our favorites; world class fitness center, salt water pool and infinity edge whirlpools. The proximity to restaurants and stores is great. Nottingham Park and all its events and lake are a 5 minute walk.

I have never left a bad review. I generally go with the flow however... would avoid the property if possible. the positives: The rooms are relatively new and clean. The negatives: service was abysmal. I am a platinum bonvoy member. the evening of arrival opened the pull out couch for kids to sleep on. It was soiled from the prior tenant. Housekeeping appeared to have not changed the sheets. No big deal, I took the sheets off the bed and placed them in the hallway. I called the "at your service" on the phone. It was 8pm MST (we live on the east coast so 10pm our time) I asked for new sheets and a blanket to be delivered. I waited 45 minutes without delivery of the sheets. I called 7 more times over the next hour. was told sorry they are short staffed, and they would be there in 15 minutes on many occasions (poor Cody had to take all my calls). I spoke to a supervisor on the phone who stated she would personally bring the sheets to us. never happened. I asked if I could go to housekeeping and get them myself! I was told no. Around 9:45pm MST (11:45 EST), I put my winter clothes back, walked outside to get to the hotel lobby and spoke directly to the manager in person. She stated she was aware of a complaint and the need for a crib? I explained to her it has been nearly 2 hours and still waiting for sheets, the crib must have been a different complainer... She said she would address promptly. I asked for the general manager to call me in the morning. The kids ended up sleeping on the couch with warm clothes on out of exhaustion and lack of blanket. eventually the sheets came at 10:15pm (MST). (12:15am EST) Unbelievably frustrating experience for a relatively expensive property. General manager never called me. On the day we left, I reiterated to front desk that general manager did not call me and they said he would call me later that day. ALSO NEVER CALLED THAT DAY OR ANY DAY SINCE. If this is how platinum members are treated, good luck at the property....

Property needs basic maintenance and more staff. Room was rather worn and tired. Phones didn’t work, coffee pot had rust all over it, drawers falling apart, the tv system appeared to be from the early 2000s. While eating at the restaurant and bar had one bar tender attending the bar and 8 tables. He bar tender was doing as best a job as he could, but seriously, they need more staff.

I recently stayed at the Westin Riverfront Villas from Nov 4 - Nov 6. I was not satisfied with my stay. I had booked a Studio, 1 King, Sofa bed, Balcony. The room I received had no balcony, just a small ledge with a railing. I also was not satisfied with the housekeeping services. I had requested my room to be touched up and the bed remade. I received two bags with 20 towels from housekeeping instead which I did not request. I was hoping for better services while choosing to stay at the Westin.

Lovely villa. We stayed in the studio. Very nice. Great having washer and dryer. We were only there for 4 nights so we didn’t get a tidy since it was only 4 nights but didn’t need one. They changed our towels out when we called. Location was good. Close to Vail and you can take a shuttle there. We drove since we wanted to stop on way back. In the summer, several shops and bakeries were closed on Sunday and Monday. We ate at the taco truck that was very close to Westin. It was fantastic. We also ate at Westin bar area and it was also great. Bob’s place was ok.

This facility is a timeshare property so when renting a room, a timeshare owner offer up their room and not Westin. Your Bonvoy status means nothing here. Weston would rather go away and not bug them. Our room was on the ground level with a privacy fence block our view of the grills & fire pit, but also the view of the Eagle river & mountains. The security locks were not used & we didn't feel safe. Requested a different room at the front desk of the Westin. Three times over three days the individual goes back to discuss with the "Manager on Duty" and after being away for 5 minutes comes back with a message from the manager can do anything. Question if they even talked to the manager. The WiFi was down when we arrived on Friday told it would be up shortly. Told to use the Westin Business Center which also down. Same story on Saturday & Sunday. Thank goodness it was up on Monday. Worst part was that Westin Housekeeping would only clean after 7 days. It was like the Villas was a leprosy colony and wanted to avoid all contact with us. We call over a request for fresh towels, more coffee, liquid soap for the shower and a number of other items. Everything was delivered in two plastic bags. So I need to figure out how to remove the shower soap bottle from the bracket & install the new one. Not as easy as I thought. The best item was we asked for 3 hand towels and got three rolls of paper towels. The outdoor patio was very dirty and floor had not been swept for some time. So much for Marriott management at this location as it was very disappointing!

We have been Vistana owners since 2010 and are 3 star Elite and Lifetime Titanium Elite Bonvoy status. We own in Hawaii and have taken the opportunity to get into the winter places due to more openings due to Covid. We went to Steamboat Springs in 2021 and during the owner's update bought the encore package to come to the Westin Riverfront Mountain Villas. I will tell you what a huge let down. First and foremost, this is a HOTEL and the Villas are in a separate building joined by a garage only. The staff all work for the Marriott hotel and either really have no power concerning the Villas or just don't care. There is no one who represents the Villas within the building complex- NO ONE. And when we had an issue with the room assigned, we called the front desk who said they can't help us and then sent us to the voice mail of the sales department who left at 2pm, according to the vm. Why would sales have anything to do with our room being changed? We then walked out of our building (with luggage in tow after several more failed attempts to get the front desk via phone), a stranger told us how to actually get in the building to find the front desk-why would I think I should walk through the Starbucks sign to get in the main building?? We were told by the front desk that Vistana arranges the rooms and we were s.o.l. and would have to CALL THEM! Meaning their customer service line M-F. It was Friday at 4pm MDT. We asked for our money back to find a different place to stay and we told sorry, call Vistana. I won't go into what was wrong with the room because it may trigger people and that is not the point of this review. The room was unacceptable and we were pretty much forced to stay in it since it seemed very unlikely anyone would care by Monday regardless if we left or not. Nowhere else in the Vistana system were we ever placed on the side of the road as the most unimportant people who ever graced their counter. It really amazes me since everywhere else we have been even if they had a Hotel as well like in Cabo, we still had Vistana staff and people to take care of our visit. I am pretty sure we would have fared much better at the Sheraton and I wished I had made the reservation there instead. And what is up with the windows in those units. You have to stand up to see out. Never Going Back!!!
