For $15 a night our room was par for the course—tiny and a bit rundown, but with a good net for the bed and hot water in the shower, not to mention stable and good wifi. The front desk dude was awesome, recommending a very competent and affordable guide to Ella Rock, and helping us arrange a few other visits we’d like to make while there. It’s a family run business, and the food is good. For a couple days, it was just right. Finally, this hotel is actually pretty close to Ella Rock, so you can make the hike in about four hours. My guide, Kumara, was really good. Laid back dude who even covered the rock ticket (yes, it’s mandatory now) and let me reimburse him when I got back. He also took me to a few little scenic spots I’d not otherwise have found. Terrific hike with that guy… ask for him if you can.
