Evening meal in restaurant was lovely- ambience good and outstanding customer service. Wouldn’t fault the evening staff in bar or restaurant though they must have had staffing issues, because both bar and bar tables were covered in dirty glasses, making it an uncomfortable place to relax (thankfully, the restaurant couldn’t have be better. Breakfast service was, by contrast, really poor. We’d been told 8.15 to 8.45 were busiest times because breakfast was freshly cooked, so we opted for 9am. When we arrived, we were handed menus and provided with drinks, then ignored for 20 minutes. The buffet was decimated (hardly anything left apart from toast and a couple of yogurts). When cooked breakfast orders were finally taken (without explanation or apology for delay), food arrived in good time and was enjoyable. Buffet table was then replenished with fruit and cereal - which was a bit annoying. Room was very nice, but coffee cups hadn’t been cleaned properly.

Very good couple of days. Manager works his socks off multi tasking. Excellent amenable & customer friendly bar man. Nothing too much trouble & very slick. Lucky to have a spot in car park although noticed some vehicles did not have the Rutland Arms credited ticket in their car.

Clean well kept nicely decorated bedrooms and dining area. Easy access to all other area’s Friendly helpful staff Excellent choice for breakfast and freshly cooked tasty appetising food An excellent place to stay Would highly recommend

Service at breakfast very slow. Accommodation situated in annex building across a busy road junction. Not what we expected after looking at the website and price we paid for the room.

Really impressed with this stay. Staff behind scenes appear to work hard. Beautiful building and surroundings. Amazing breakfast. Very comfortable room and luxurious. Happy historical place.

We had a wonderful stay at the Rutland Arms hotel. The staff were all very friendly and our room was very comfortable with little personal touches that made it special. Would stay again.

The hotel is finished to a very high standard. It is absolutely beautiful from the public areas right down to the bathrooms. Food was delicious too. I would definitely stay there again.
