Lua Resort - Adults Only

Schöne Lage, wenn auch etwas abseits, das touristische Zentrum ist zu Fuß gut 20 Minuten entfernt, einen Shuttle gibt es nicht. Wir waren über Ostern und offensichtlich wurde das Hotel vom guten Wetter "überrascht". Die Terrasse des Wellnessbereichs war jedenfalls nicht geputzt, gleiches galt für die Kabanas. Auch das Personal war nicht sehr aufmerksam, d.h. Geschirr, leere Flaschen und Handtücher wurden nur sporadisch weggeräumt. Wellness ist ok, aber nicht berauschend (Saunalandschaft habe ich nicht aufgesucht, daher habe ich dazu keine Meinung). Das Frühstück war sehr gut, allerdings war um 10 Uhr am Ostersonntag der Andrang so groß, dass viele Gäste zunächst keinen Platz gefunden haben (obwohl ein kompletter weiterer Raum zur Verfügung gestanden hätte, der aber nicht geöffnet wurde). Kaffee dauerte 20 Minuten, mit dem Abräumen kam das Personal auch nicht hinterher. Zum Restaurant kann ich keine Angaben machen, da wir abends auswärts Essen waren. Das Hotel genügt den eigenen Ansprüchen leider nicht, bei 5 Sternen und den entsprechenden Preisen hatten wir höhere Erwartungen.

Während einer Motorrad Reise hatten wir drei Übernachtungen in dem Hotel und waren absolut zufrieden. Schöne, saubere Zimmer modern und geschmackvoll eingerichtet, mit allem erforderlichen ausgestattet. Das Personal begegnete uns in jedem Bereich des Hauses und jederzeit sehr freundlich und entgegenkommend. Beim nächsten Mal in der Region gern wieder im Lua Resort Hotel.

The hotel is in a prime location with rooms that are elegantly decorated. It is equipped with a luxurious spa. The hotel is well designed with an elevator for people going to the spa so they won’t encounter fully dressed guests in the elevator embarrassingly. Every staff I’ve come across at the hotel was amiable and friendly. Sadly, we only stayed for one night. This is a great place for holidays. We had the chance to stay in the first week of 2023 in this newly opened 5 star resort in Balatonfured. It´s the off season, outside of the resort mostly everything is closed. No problem the resort offers everything what is needed for a great stay. The Breakfirst is great, the Spa new and spacious, the rooms perfect. The staff of the hotel is friendly and is trained to help the guests to feel at home. If the client´s have suggestions or questions the management takes care. A place to come back.

The hotel itself is nice, however 5 stars it is not. It is a quiet place at night with a good sleep – 1 star. The kitchen is supposed to be based on Michelin chef´s set menu, however execution was not a Michelin grade, far from it – 1/2 star. Hotel itself is well designed, outfitted with modern furniture, rooms are modern and clean, but carpeted – ½ star. Staff is caring, however there is not enough staff, always need to call out to get an attention– 1/2star. Hotel has free parking, and surrounding is well maintained, even though there was a building site next to it, which was annoying – still 1 star. Hotel has its own spa – indoor and outdoor pool, sauna, tot tub, outside resting deck + a sunbathing deck at the marina on Balaton lake – 1/2 star, would give 1 star but the gym was ridicule ☹. All up, 4 stars hotel, could be 5 if only they do something with their dining competency – menu as well as food execution.

Nice new hotel, great room, functional, comfortable. Its greatest treasure is gastronomy. Almost fine dining pleasure, professional restaurant staff /Andras a chucs/ The quality selection of appetizers is unique, the main dishes are accompanied by plate service. Really remarkable wine list. The guest is replaced in 3 nights. The place is an island of tranquility and quality.

I almost always write our positive comments first in a review, but unfortunately, I have to say that we will not be returning to LUA RESORT. There is no doubt that the hotel is tasteful and beautiful, our room was spacious, clean, the bathroom well equipped, and the bed very comfortable. Dinner was also sublime, with interesting, unusual dishes and service. I would like to make a special mention of the afternoon activities, I particularly liked the KATACRYL craft and the chocolate demonstration. We spent a whole weekend there with my husband, looking for autumn wellness and relaxation. The shortcomings were most noticeable in the spa services. We waited a full hour to get towels that we can use in the wellness area. Several guests repeatedly reported this, but we were unable to get clean towels. They promised to try to collect them from the empty rooms upstairs, but it turned out to be a very long process. This makes us wonder how is it possible that there are not enough towels even when the hotel is not fully booked? I finally went up to our room and got some towels. This should not be the case in a 5*hotel. In the wellness area, refreshing soft drinks and lemon water were waiting for the sauna guests, but unfortunately, we could not drink, because there were no clean glasses. We finally helped to collect the empty ones from the tables, we took them to the wellness receptionist to speed up the process, but this did not work either, we got tired of waiting and we washed two of them ourselves and got ourselves our refreshments. We feel that somehow, they were not prepared for so many guests, as for example we had to wait to get in to get breakfast, as the dining room was full, and finally they opened a covered terrace area where we were very cold. Unfortunately, the biggest slap in the face happened at the check-out, when we were shown a consumption bill from the bar that we had not consumed. It was billed to our room number and the signature was like mine. The receptionist girl tried to convince me that probably another guest had accidentally entered our room number, which is completely absurd and it must be a very big coincidence that the other guest's name starts with the same T and his signature is in special characters and almost identical to mine (my signature is on the sign-in sheet that I had to sign when I checked in so it was easy to copy my signature). I conclude this as complete slap in the face and flat-out cheat and I'm very sorry that anything like this can happen in a hotel of this calibre.

As one of the only two 5* hotels in Balatonfured, LUA resort certainly did not disappoint. The hotel is modern and new and is right next to the marina. You could walk from the Balatonfured central train/bus station or you could take the local bus to the kemping station, where it would be a 5 min walk. I think the hotel is relatively new so the room decor is modern and clean. The room could be a bit bigger if I would compare with other 5* hotels, especially when this is more like a resort hotel and not a city hotel. We got the room with the garden view but we saw more solar panels than grass, but yes we do have a big balcony. The bathroom part is comparatively bigger and it comes with powerful hot water and a rainshower and the Molton Brown amenities were highly praised by my wife. The hotel has nice view of the lake and it has its private beach to the lake nevertheless it is shared with local residents like wild ducks and swans. Although it doesn't have any sand on the beach it is very shallow (at 1.2M) for a long stretch so even those who cannot swim will still be able to enjoy dipping in the fresh water. But it is really the SPA and the Sauna centre that shines in this hotel. There is a small outdoor pool with jacuzzi but a large indoor pool (also with jacuzzi) and also a large circular bath tub with more jacuzzi. The water was heated and trendily lit so it would be a good way to spend your late afternoon after a tiring day walking in Tihany. The hotel comes with perks like electric bike/scooter/vespa rentals and also a private sundeck for rental albeit at a hefty price. In September when the parties when over, lots of the surrounding restaurants in the area went to hibernation so you might not have many dining options. Noon was the only restaurant in the hotel and having a fixed menu every day might not help too much if you were looking for different options during your stay. Overall, if you want some luxury and pampering in the area, I think this is the place.

We really enjoyed our stay at LUA Resort. It’s location is perfect. What we liked the best: 1. the breakfast and dinner. Even better than in many 5star hotels. (We have tried a lot of them) 2. the staff who were really nice, polite and friendly. (On the reception and in the restaurant/dining area too. (In many hotels they don’t really care about you.) The spa area was also nice. In the wintertime water could be a bit warmer maybe. There was a lovely scent in all over the place. The hotel was peaceful, we could rest. And what is also a very positive thing: you can take your pet (dog) with you!
