艾姆道姆酒店(Hotel am Dom)

Das Hotel befindet sich in einer tollen Lage mitten in der Altstadt in der Nähe des Doms. Parkplätze sind ein paar wenige außen und in einer Garage vorhanden. Aber mit einem Preis von 15 Euro pro Tag doch recht satt. Ansonsten wird es schwer in der Nähe was zu finden. Ein Fahrstuhl ist nicht vorhanden. Hier könnte es für Leute die drauf angewiesen sind schwierig werden. Nebenan befinden sich zahlreiche Restaurants und Kneipen. Das könnte im Sommer ggf etwas lauter werden. Hier wird auch bei Restaurant Scheiners eingecheckt. Eine Rezeption wie man sie kennt gibt es nicht im Hotel. Auch kein Frühstück. Aber da findet man genug in der Nähe. Das Zimmer ist groß genug gewesen, hat moderne Möbel und ein funktionales Bad. Das hat etwas wenig Charme. Tipp: bei leichtem Schlaf nach ruhigem Zimmer fragen (zumindest im Sommer bei Biergartenwetter)

Wir waren etwas enttäuscht, da wir durch die Bilder im Internet schönere Zimmer erwartet haben. Dieses war teils renovierungsbedürftig und daher haben wir uns nicht so wohl gefühlt. Die Lage ist natürlich sehr gut, und wir konnten trotz Geräuschen von der Straße in einem bequemen Bett schlafen.

Die Lage ist mehr oder weniger optimal und da das Hotel eigene Parkplätze hat, geht prinzipiell alles zu Fuß. Die Zimmer sind gut und ausreichend geräumig, allerdings hört man (zumindest an den Wochenenden) die Leute nach dem Kneipenbesuch auf ihren Heimwegen doch recht deutlich. Da kann der Hoteleigentümer natürlich nichts für, man sollt lediglich daran denken, die Fenster dann geschlossen zu halten. Da Frühstück ist ausgesprochen gut und die Crew absolut nett und hilfsbereit.

This is not a hotel - no reception onsite, its a block of rooms - all perfectly ok and acceptable. Keys are from the restaurant across the road which could be tricky to find depending on which way you approach the rooms. Luckily one of our group knew the area well and pointed us in the right direction. Nice and clean, comfortable, i could imagine it been warm in the summer, lack of aircon.

A bit hard to get to, you must come early if you want to drive to the hotel. They have 10 parking lots but all full when we arrived so we got a dress to a parking nearby. That costed 17 euro/day. You must drive to the hotel to unload your bagage though as it is impossible almost to walk with bagage in the city center. So if you plan to arrive late, this is not a hotel for you. We arrived 4 pm and you should not arrive later than 5 pm. Breakfast was really nice and cost 12 euro/day. We had a nice clean room with a window in the bathroom but many rooms did not have that extra window and as there was no ac then I can imagine those rooms being very very warm. It is very noisy from outside. Day two we were awaken several times during the night from singing and screaming partying people from just outside. If you area light sleeper and hard to fall asleep, you should choose another hotel. We had a nice stay and would stay again at same hotel if we visit Bamberg again.
