Welcome to Medina Lake Getaway. A newly renovated extensive waterfront home ideally situated in a quiet cove of Medina Lake. Just 45 minutes from San Antonio this is the ideal place for adventure or relaxation. Create magical memories with your family & friends in this modern, luxurious and spacious resort style home.
Important Notice: Medina Lake Level is very low, but our lovely swimming pool and views are still incredible!
This spectacular estate comprises of three main structures: Main House (sleeps 12), Barndominium (sleeps 4) and Guesthouse (sleeps 4). All three structures are joined together with covered well-lit walkways. Luxury appointments throughout the home with an open plan design and multiple entertainment spaces makes this the perfect family getaway.
The main house downstairs boasts a large fully appointed kitchen with a lovely, bright & airy, open plan design. Luxury appointments in the kitchen include granite counter tops, under counter lighting, soft-close draws, extendable taps, double sink, seated breakfast bar, stainless appliances, range, microwave, French door fridge with bottom freezer, water-maker & dishwasher. Kitchen windows have views of the yard and play areas. Amenities include crockpot, toaster, mixer, blender, BBQ cooking kit, pots, pans, skillets, 2xdrip coffee pots, knife block, cutlery and a dinner setting for 24 people. There is also a generous supply of other useful & common kitchen items & glassware. A half-bathroom is conveniently located at the rear house entrance by the kitchen.
From the kitchen walk down a few steps into the library space, maybe take a nap in the oversized comfy reading chair by the window. Continue through the house to the impressive Great Room and enjoy fantastic uninterrupted views through oversized windows overlooking the lake & pool. This space is incredibly large and designed for dining, games, rest &/or relaxation. The dining table seats 12 people. The extra-large lounge suite and beanbags offer the perfect environment for watching a movie or playing games on the large wall-mounted smart TV. The TV is also connected to an excellent sound system with sub-woofer.
Also downstairs is the sunken master bedroom (queenbed) with a lit walk-in robe (hidden behind the bedroom door), study nook, storage cupboard & large comfortable lounge chair, ceiling fan and dedicated A/C. Just beyond the main master bedroom door is the full bathroom which is effectively the ensuite (however technically it can be accessed by others in the house if they know where to find it). This bathroom has a massive shower, toilet, large sink, granite counter tops and a lot of counter space.
There is an internal spiral staircase from the library taking you to the second level of the main house. There is also an external set of stairs to access upstairs too (so there is no need to attempt to carry luggage via the spiral staircase).
On the second level of the main house are three bedrooms: two queen bedrooms and one bunk room. There is a full bathroom and a half-bath too (so two toilets upstairs). Also on this level is the Sky Bar which has a wet bar area with mini fridge that leads via French doors to the stunning roof top Sky Deck. This is a spectacular space to enjoy a quiet morning coffee, sunset drinks or simply a mindful escape.
The Barndominium boasts a very large entertainment area, bedroom, full bathroom with large shower, laundry (washer & dryer) & separate toilet. In the entertainment space is a wet bar compete with neon lights, pool & fuseball tables, massive lounge suite, TV, fridge & sound system. The bedroom has a queen bed with a bunk bed (sleeps 4 people) and has a dedicated A/C and ceiling fan.
The Guesthouse is a third separate building on the estate. This fully self-contained private space is perfect for a family with young kids. It has a large bedroom with a queenbed and bunk bed, so it sleeps 4 people. It also has a 3 seater lounge chair, A/C & ceiling fan. The private full bathroom consists of a shower, toilet and pedestal handbasin with a third adjoining room containing ample storage, large granite countertop with inset sink & a lot of space – perfect to spread out a little more.
For the mobility challenged the Guesthouse is suitable for walkers and wheelchair access via a ramp, as is the kitchen to the main house. All other areas of the estate have steps or stairs. All showers throughout the property have step-up entry and are not suitable for roll-in wheelchair access.
Each of the three structures (main house, guesthouse & barndominium) each have their own dedicated hot water systems for fast delivery of hot water. All bedrooms and main living spaces throughout the estate are air conditioned, most with ceiling fans too. Wifi is also provided and is accessible throughout the three separate buildings.
The private outdoor pool is a highlight of property with amazing uninterrupted lake views, underwater seats, shallow swim area especially for the kids and fun underwater mood lighting. Less than 8 miles to Utopia, 13 miles to Lost Maples State Natural Area, 22 miles to Garner State Park and 36 miles to Bandera, it's a short drive to just about anywhere you'd want to go. Awe-inspiring views, spectacular sunsets and plenty of space to relax and take it in. This is what "getting away from it all" is about. Secluded, yet close to a variety of activities, makes this THE place to be when you're wanting to escape!
Sunset Ridge is a 5 bedroom 2 bathroom log home that sits on 10 gorgeous acres surrounded by hill country views, majestic oak trees and a lot of peace and quiet! Features include a large porch complete with porch swing, a deck on the edge of the hill for a phenomenal view while relaxing in the hot tub, and fire pit for s'mores while enjoying the night sky!
Looking for a "nature experience"? Sunset Ridge is in the migratory path for many different species of birds. Whether you are a seasoned birdwatcher or just enjoy their song and beauty you will not be disappointed in the variety and number of birds you'll see.
There are 3 major state parks/natural areas close by. Garner State Park is a family oriented park with Frio River access, hiking trails and the infamous "nightly dance" during the summer. Their busy seasons are holidays and summer. Lost Maples State Natural Area offers great hiking trails and is known for it's fall color during the month of November. Hill Country State Natural Area is a 5,369 acre undeveloped state park that offers 36 miles of trails for horseback riding, hiking, and backpacking.
While the area still has a small town feel, there is plenty to do and some great local eateries and entertainment. One of the best features of Sunset Ridge is it's close proximity to everything!
