We stayed here when the weather dropped down to -35 F and the fireplace in our room kept us nice and warm. The staff were super kind and helpful and came to our room to deliver a space heater and more fire-starting supplies AND helped us build our first fire. They came by daily to ask if we needed anything and restocked the firewood throughout the day. The hotel is cozy and pretty and slightly off the main drag. The restaurant is amazing. Stay here!!!

This used to be one of the best places to stay in Banff.
We've been staying here for over 20 years.
It has been a couple years since we have made it back and there is a noticeable difference.
New management is in place and you can definitely feel the shift.
The significant changes were in the service and the details.
The little things that used to make this hotel exceptional were missing at every turn. Check-in was arduous, disorganized. Especially since I called in advance to ensure a seamless start.
Although the room was lovely, the new bathrobes are no longer plush and snuggly. Dinner was alright. However dessert and after dinner cocktails turned into a less than enjoyable situation (note: the new management has changed the room service rules, so be prepared to bring your own night cap, as they will no longer have that option. Which is extra inconvenient since the amenities that used to be across the street are gone.
Double check the towel situation before you hop in the hot tub, always full we never thought to look and were caught without.
Late check out, even if confirmed is questionable. Housekeeping walked in on me in the shower, half hour before check out.
If you are having breakfast be sure the front desk doesn't automatically close out your room before you actually check out, otherwise it is a nightmare to close out your stay. It's possible this was just a string of unfortunate events, though I think it will be a while before we choose this property again.

The Staff was unreasonable... They gave me a not pet friendly room even though my profile indicates I have a service animal. I informed them a day later and showed them documents as I checked in late that night. They are charging me $200 for cleaning fee because they put me in a room that's not pet friendly. She was also rude when she informed me of this. Waiting for a call from the manager.

We couldn’t sleep at all , due to the noise from the room above.
And in the morning around 9am cleaning people came to the room above as well and made more noise.!
We went there to rest and we couldn’t .

Endroit pittoresque , très bien situé , avec foyer au bois
Banff est une très belle ville entouré des rocheuses majestueuses.
I have to say how quiet the rooms where and how great the staff was. We came during a heavy snow fall and the outside staff was great at removing the snow around our vehicles and sidewalks.

Great helpful staff. Very clean room. Parking is a bit tight on weekends due to volume but nothing that was problematic.

Despite being a repeat guest at Buffalo Mountain Lodge, my recent stay was marred by an unforgettable experience, one that has led me to the conclusion that I will likely not return to this property. Despite multiple complaints to the front desk regarding the disruptive partying in the room above ours, which lasted until 2:30 a.m., the situation remained unresolved. To exacerbate matters, the individuals partying decided to set up their smoke shack near our bedroom window, subjecting us to their loud conversations and laughter throughout the night. The incessant blaring of French pop music only added to the chaos. Frustrated and sleep-deprived, I made the decision to depart a day early, forfeiting a night's stay. However, upon checkout, my concerns were met with indifference, and instead of empathy, I was directed to contact the booking agency for any resolution. It's disheartening that what should have been a pleasant stay turned into such a disappointing experience, with no acknowledgment or attempt at resolution from the hotel staff.
