The Story No Family Should Ever Go Through Crowne Plaza Barranquilla – A Name I Won’t Forget I booked two nights at this hotel for someone who hadn’t seen her children in three and a half years. I planned a surprise – a warm, emotional reunion: A hotel room. The kids waiting. Signs. Hugs. Tears. Everything. Then the airline changed the flight. I reached out to the hotel in time — not asking for a refund, not even a discount. Just human decency. They didn’t reply. I followed up. I called. I begged. Still silence. Meanwhile, her daughter traveled 1.5 hours with the kids to check in early, just like the front desk had promised me on the phone. When they arrived? They were ignored. Dismissed. Refused entry. No one helped. No one cared. They watched three children and a young woman stand in the lobby with hope in their eyes… and then be turned away. ⸻ They still charged me $62 for a night we physically couldn’t use. Not because we canceled. Because they made it impossible to use. ⸻ I’m not a celebrity. I’m not chasing revenge. We really enjoyed ourcstay at this hotel. What really made it special was their staff at front desk, baggage handlers, servers and cooks. The cook, Marco, has a touch on everything he cooks. The foof was delicious. The servers and the attention of Jorge, Kevin and Julieth were amazing. We felt like were part of their family. I apologize if I don't remember the names of the rest of the amazing staff. Lastly, I want to thank, Amouri, he always received us with a big smile, he gave us great information and suggestions about the area. He also connected us with a great guide. The guide, Fabian Urbina, knew everyone in the hotel and Barranquilla and surrounding area. He made our stay and our experience here much better. Barranquina now is our favorite city in Colombia and this Hotel Crowne Plaza our new home away from home.

AC not working Was looking forward to staying at this top hotel in Barranquilla, however I had a terrible experience. I complained to the front desk about our AC not functioning three times. They advise they would look into it, after looking at the AC twice their resolution was giving us a stand up fine. By this time it was already 1AM to even try move rooms. Front desk did not give us a solution to this issue. Will not be coming back
