阿姆布羅斯酒店(Ambrose Hotel)

Found the whole experience of staying here awful. So out dated, noise that went on all night, through to morning. No one seemed to have any respect for anyone else. Dogs barking, people shouting Bathroom was mouldy and walls were dirty. No breakfast was provided, nor could we find any staff on the morning we left. Will definitely not be staying here again. AVOID AT ALL COST

I went to Barrow with friends to watch a midweek football match my team were playing there and wanted a reasonably priced place to drop my stuff and come back to after a few beers and the game. The Ambrose did the job fine for us. The bed was comfortable, the shower was good and easy to work and the room clean. My expectations weren't high but I was pleasantly surprised, as a bonus after the game we came back to the bar and they had 2 pretty decent real ales on amongst the plethora of exotically named chemically manufactured fizz. It's not too far from the station though not in a very scenic part of town. They don't do food so went elsewhere for breakfast. If you want a clean, budget hotel as we did this place fits the bill, it's all about expectations.

Lovely big light airy room. Friendly staff. Unfortunately, two of the beds squeaky badly. I slept on the (comfortable) matress in the floor. A shame as otherwise, it was a lovely place! An easy fix i would think.

Bed very squeaky, desk unsafe - leaned when lap top put on it, shower flooded bathroom floor(this was rectified) no toilet roll holder, bathroom door opened outwards into the bedroom if not fully shut, window didn't open, no battery in remote (got one when asked), cold water tap switched itself off - continue to turn in opposite direction came on again, large crack in sink, heater legs kept falling off, one coat hanger,

You get what you pay for. If you’ve opted for a budget stay then don’t expect too much glamour. Hotel receptionist was friendly and helpful. Could do with redecorating but room was clean. Only disappointment was being woken up early by the cleaners crashing about long before check out time.

Lovely welcome , clean throughout ,lovely comfortable beds,fluffy towels ,tea and coffee facilities , great service avaliable microwave and fridge for those of us on a budget highly recommend for families ,or if you'd prefer they have a great menu for breakfast lunch and dinner at sensible prices for quality meals,family friendly , pool table in the back room and cinema and shopping within a five minute walk ,staff couldn't be more helpful great relaxed atmoshere I would highly recommend to all .
