小熊貝爾酒店(The Bear)

The room was not a described on the confirmation sheet. It said superior king and it was an everyday low Double wooden bed . There was no dressing table ,it was an old fashioned school desk ,no where near a mirror or socket. The mirror was in an alcove with no light above it. It had a 70's dude board. Windows had the old fashioned double glazing you couldn't open. Windows covered in condensation constantly and the slatted blinds were broken. Stairs had thread bear carpet on them . Tea and coffee bags were in jam jars !!! Bar area was very big with no central heating only a small plug in oil filled radiator that you could only feel if you were sat near it. On last night no food could be ordered as they has a Christmas party booking . Also no breakfast was provided. The whole place looked very tired and needs a major overhaul. This cost £80 per night per person and was was only worth £30 in my opinion. Very dissatisfied and would not stay here again .

We turned up, checked in, and then decided not to stay. I had booked a room with a king-size bed - the bed in the room was clearly not a king size bed. We had been allocated the Chaucer room, and it was well below the standard of any hotel stay in memory, let alone one that cost £120 on a Sunday night. It smelt more like a hospital than a hotel; the hallway reeked of ammonia, the room itself was musty, the walls were dirty. The blind was broken. The bathroom door didn't even close. We were not happy, and my partner went to speak to the duty manager. He was very nice, but he was unable to offer any kind of resolution, he did not apparently have the authority to offer any kind of compensation or refund, and his director decided he needed our money far too much to consider giving any of it back - presumably it will be used for some paint. Or a new door handle. Even though we left within 45 minutes of arriving, the hotel refused to compensate us, despite the room being well below standard, and not as sold. Extremely disappointing.

We had a great stay. Friendly staff, outstanding food, great accommodation everything you need in the bedroom, on site parking & a 10-15 minute walk into the town centre. I would definitely recommend staying here & I would return

The Bear in was a comfortable relaxing place to stay. The buses into town were frequent. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Had a 2 night stay to visit the Bath Christmas market. Parking was readily available onsite and the check-in process was easy and prompt with the friendly staff. The room exceeded our expectations with a lovely shower and freestanding bath, large wall mounted tv and separate radio. Whilst being located outside the city centre, it was only a 15 minute walk to the centre using the short cuts (thanks to Google maps). Would highly recommend

Stayed for 2 nights, great location for a short walk into bath. Free parking is a great plus. The walk into bath is a fairly steep hill so bare that in mind. Hotel itself superb, really friendly team immaculate room with a touch of class. Nice vibrant pub below.

Excellent stay. Good location just outside the city centre. Check in was quick and easy. Room clean and very quiet, well equipped and plenty of sitting space. Two minor gripes: the bed was quite small even though there was definitely space for a king size in the room, and the extractor fan in the bathroom made an annoying clicking sound, which led us to turning it off.

A great place to stay on the outskirts of Bath. 20 min walk down hill in to town. Everything to a good standard at the Bear. Couldn’t fault it. Rooms good. Staff friendly. Food cooked fresh and good too. Made for a nice weekend stay. Thank you.
