I went for lunch at this hotel and found the food to be quite good. The restaurant staff were very friendly and accommodating. After lunch, I took a walk around the hotel grounds, but I was disappointed by the behavior of the garden worker- called Sivakumar towards guests. Their approach seemed disrespectful and unprofessional. This experience makes me hesitant to revisit this place in the future."

Riviera never disappoints on food and great service. The food potion sizes are very generous, and full of flavour. I especially loved that the hot ginger tea/coffee potions comes in a flask with a very generous serving! The staff are extremely helpful and accomodating. The overall ambiance is very relaxing with the large garden space and amazing view of the lagoon at night. The location is also very central to the major sights of Batticaloa. Some of the rooms are shipping containers turned into rooms, which is pretty neat in terms of sustainable construction! The hotel organizes lagoon cruises for a reasonable rate, including at night when the "singing mermaids of Kallady Bridge" are supposed to be heard!

This place is a gem. It is quiet hidden away along some narrow lanes but lies in a beautiful location overlooking the lagoon with stunning sunsets. Extremely friendly and service minded staff make you feel welcome and will do all they can to help. The food was excellent. The hotel is attractively designed and often used for wedding functions. We loved the open air in the dining area. Our rooms were basic and comfortable, the outdoor garden is well kept and full of trees which eagles often roost in. A model train enthusiast has his model railway on site which is a thrill to see, even for adults! It was very quiet when we were there.

Terrible staff wit worst attitude, one lady name Jayanthi who act as the Maneger ruin the name of the hospitality...she does know only shows her attitude towards the guests...thisbisbthe worst and terrible service we ever had travelling as a family....not worth for money and rooms are not clean enough to stay for a human all the staff are same as Manager Jayanthi......very very bad experience I ever had...

Very poor capacity for dinning. Poor staff hospitality. This is the only restaurant May be taken 2-3 hours for the orders. I will not recommend this for anyone for their stay or dinning though their perfect location

Stayed for 3 nights here and i really love the hotel and the lagoon view. A/C rooms needs a bit of maintenance but not a concern at all. I really Loved the food they serve here which is reasonably priced. bar is an added advantage here where you can enjoy your sprits overlooking the lagoon with some tasty seafood snacks. The staff was so very friendly and helpful. This is the second time im staying in this hotel and would recommend this hotel for people who is visit Batticaloa.

Beautiful property. The food is very tasty and the best place to get authentic North Eastern food. Lots of animals wondering around the property, you might need to follow up with them on a few things .

Although officially 'only' a 2 star-hotel, this place is an outstanding resort within the Batticaloa region. Excellent location next to the lagoon with the singing fish (in the evenings) and only a few kilometers away from Batticaloa city on one side and a magnificent beach on the other. Surrounded by a very well and clean landscaped garden incl. a comfortable and well maintained swimming pool. The rooms are beyond any complaints, the food in the restaurant is appealing and well prepared, and the staff under managing director, Mrs. Clarence, is just so friendly, always helpful and full of professional hospitality.
