高德納安克酒店(Hotel Goldener Anker)

cool authentic hotel, kind people and friendly service. The location is perfect for exploring Bayreuth. Walking distance to lots of museum and the famous opera house. 5-10 min walk to train station if you want to explore other areas such as Nuremberg. I recommend the breakfast. It’s not buffet there is a menu and service so that felt luxurious for “included breakfast.” Very beautiful hotel and town!

Our stay at the Goldener Anker Hotel in Bayreuth was the highlight of our travels in Germany. They served us Franconian white wine, chilled and crisp. Desserts included our favorite poppy seed struedel with elegant coffee service. It is no wonder that film director Wes Anderson is among the long list of fans of this spot, right next to one of the oldest opera houses in Europe. The entire place is a gem, not to be missed if you're a lover of truly authentic historical experiences. The owner is charming and the staff is friendly, multi lingual and hospitable. There's even free parking.

The lack of conveniences can be excused in a 265 year continuously operated family hotel of charm and character. In trudging up the slanting stairs remember that Arturo Toscanini and Richard Wagner made the same trip heard the same squeaks and squeals and be grateful to be in the same space. Another rare bonus is that a seated full breakfast is included.

The service was very friendly and helpful. The location is great, next to the Opera House. The old part of the hotel was charming and I imagine the rooms were very nice. The room I was given was in the newer section and very bland and not very comfortable. It was not consistent with the pictures shown when I booked here. I was not happy with the value and would not go back.

I stayed here for two nights during the opera festival with friends who had stayed before. The location is near perfect and the staff try really hard to ensure you enjoy your stay. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed during our stay , but the breakfast was first class.

Goldener Anker is a classic place, with lots of gold, carpets and ancient light switches. Nothing wrong for a night or two but a bit old fashioned. Breakfast is a la carte,many rooms have names of the people who stayed here: Thomas Mann, Herbert von Karajan..AH stayed here too, but then who did not .....

It is the perfect place if you like a cozy, old house feel, historical landmark to stay in. You pay a premium for that, and I was happy to pay it for my pilgrimage to Wagner sites. My room was individual and these never get the same love as the other bigger ones, but I have no complaints. Beautiful common areas and dining room. Very friendly staff.

Merci à Eva Graf et sa merveilleuse équipe (Richard, Elisabeth, etc.) pour l’accueil durant le festival! Sourires, générosité, gentillesse et attention du matin jusqu’à tard dans la nuit - le restaurant proposait une délicieuse petite carte et de magnifiques vins après les opéras! Idéalement situé en plein centre, à côté de l’opéra baroque, l’hôtel est à 15-20 minutes de marche du Festspielhaus. Le décor est charmant et témoigne de l’histoire fascinante qui a traversé les lieux. La même famille tient les rênes de l’établissement depuis sa fondation il y a presque 300 ans! Un hôtel « dans son jus », mais très classieux et qui offre tout le confort nécessaire pour un client du 21e siècle. J’ai passé dix nuits dans une chambre simple très agréable et spacieuse (57), rafraîchie deux fois par jour. Le petit-déjeuner « à la carte » compris dans la nuitée propose de très bons produits, servis avec soin dans une belle vaisselle. Sans compter l’argenterie qui sublime la table. Je garde un très bon souvenir de ma visite au Goldener Anker et me réjouis d’y revenir.
