Very unique, cozy and old charm that bears the heart of Bayreuth.

Etwas zwiespältig bin ich ja bei der Bewertung des Goldenen Hirschen. Zum einen ist das Personal super freundlich und kundenorientiert. Man fühlt sich herzlich willkommen. Das Hotel liegt schön zentral. In der Altstadt ist man schnell zu Fuß und auch zum Festspielhaus ist es nicht weit. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig. Preis stimmt … somit grundsätzlich eine Empfehlung. Ein paar Abstriche will ich aber nicht verschweigen. Das Hotel ist schon irgendwie in den 80er Jahren stehen geblieben. Das kann man mögen … unser Ding war es nicht so. Insgesamt war alles ziemlich düster. Auch das Frühstück war nicht wirklich ein Highlight. Unterm Strich waren wir aber noch ganz zufrieden. Wer mit den Kritikpunkten leben kann, für den ist der Hirsch eine gute Wahl, um Bayreuth zu erkunden.

Unmittelbar beim Bahnhof gelegen. Die Innenstadt ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Auch das Festspielhaus kann man gut fußläufig oder mit einem Bus vom Bahnhof erreichen. Personal ist sehr aufmerksam. Das Frühstück ist vielseitig und wirklich als gut zu erachten. Die Einrichtung des Hotels ist schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen und versprüht viel 80er-Flair.

Das Haus ist familiengeführt und entsprechend herzlich und freundlich wird man dort willkommen geheißen. Parkplätze sind im Hof vorhanden. Bei der Planung von Ausflügen und Aktivitäten wurden wir gut beraten. Zur Innenstadt und dem Markgräflichen Theater sind es 5 Gehminuten.

On sent accueillis comme chez soi, c’est super agréable ! Personnel d’une incroyable gentillesse. Très propre, simple, confortable. Parfait. Proche de la gare. A 3km du Festspielehaus. A 10 min du centre historique. Petit-déjeuner avec buffet de qualité.

In guter, zentraler Lage findet man dieses Hotel. Parkplatz direkt am Haus. Lademöglichkeit für e-Autos auch, allerdings nur 220 V/3 kW -15€ psch. Das Zimmer einfach aber ordentlich ausgestattet und sauber. Allerdings ein 1,40 m breites Bett als reguläres Doppelbett zu verkaufen ist schon grenzwertig. Frühstück war auch sehr ordentlich und das Personal war zuvorkommend und freundlich. Für Durchreise und geschäftliche Kurzaufenthalte eine gute Wahl!

Very happy with my stay here. From the first email inquiry to checking out I have nothing to complain about. The hotel is an easy walk from the main station, which was important to me since I didn’t want to have to rely on taxi/public transport, and because I arrived on a Sunday (shops closed in Germany) and knew I could grab water, the odd snack and fruit at the small store inside the station. From first entry the absolute neatness of the hotel stood out. The décor may be a little dated, but it didn’t bother me as it was well maintained. The two concierges I met were welcoming and helpful. My single room was near the main stairs and as neat as the rest of the hotel. A perfect little space for my needs. Traffic was heavy during the day but it was very quiet during the night. Breakfast offered anything one could want and need, service was prompt and friendly, and again, super clean and neat. I ate dinner at the in-house Italian restaurant, wisely booking a table. It was full, mostly with hotel guests, and several were turned away. If I’m ever in Bayreuth again I won’t hesitate staying at Goldener Hirsch, and happily recommend it to others, especially women travelling alone, as I felt safe here.

My wife and I recently stayed at Goldener Hirsch for three nights during the Festival. The facility was spotless, the staff was warm and inviting, and we have already booked again for next year. If you will be staying in Bayreuth, look nowhere else.

I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Bayreuth. It’s a family-run hotel with every attention to detail. From our first encounter, we were made to feel at home. For us, proximity to the Festspielhaus was important and the hotel is a 20-minute walk away. Other delights? The breakfast is amazing: a wide variety served with a smile. The reception staff are well-informed about the area and its facilities. There is a cosy ‘den’ at the rear of the hotel: a good place to enjoy a beer or a glass of wine after the show. No surprises: guests come back year after year.

We had chosen the hotel because dogs are allowed and I must say that I was positively surprised by the friendly welcome that both we and the dogs had when we arrived. Room was spacious and comfortable. The main road can be rather busy, so the night wasn't too quiet, but nonetheless we slept well. Breakfast was excellent!

We went to Bayreuth for the Ring Cycle at the Festspielhaus and Hotel Goldener Hirsch proved to be the perfect place to stay. It is a comparatively small (40 rooms) family-run (five generations) hotel within 20 minutes walk of the Festspielhaus and just two minutes from the station and buses. The welcome is warm. You soon feel part of the family. The staff have an encyclopaedic knowledge of the area: transport, places to visit and restaurants. Every year, the hotel shuts for refurbishment and upgrading. The bedrooms are well-appointed with comfortable beds and well-equipped bathrooms. Everything is spotless. Breakfast is a feast: eggs to order and a handsome buffet including cold meat, cheese, fruit, cakes and delicious bread. The staff couldn’t do enough for us and really pulled out the stops when one of us needed medical attention. A room was found for the other guest without making any fuss. We shall visit again next year. Where else would we stay?

A lovely, traditional, family-run hotel where they can’t do enough to help. Comfortable, spotlessly clean, with a great breakfast, the friendly staff can’t do enough to help. For them, it’s personal. Location is great - a couple of minutes’ walk from the station and in easy reach of the town centre and the Festspielhaus.
