Superb hotel in picturesque surroundings

Great hotel, the spa, the location, the staff, everything’s lovely

We have stayed here before and enjoyed it both times. Staff very accommodating, facilities great and bar was lovely with live music.

Checkin was fine - room was clean and the shower was nice. Staff seemed friendly. The view out the window was one of what I now think is some kind of function hall with an alley lined with bins. It was a bit weird but never mind, didn’t book for the view. We went out to a restaurant to return to a wedding in full swing - looked awesome! There was no real indication that this would be any issue - it was close to silent in the lobby. As we got closer to our room - the sub bass from the wedding literally shook the fittings. The constant thud of a kick rattled pretty much throughout the room. Thinking “They must know this happens” we figured it would probably quieten down, left it to around 11:30 and called Reception. Guy confirms this is going on till 1am. I got no sleep - the hotel 100% knows these rooms can be impacted by the functions, just have to look on trip advisor. The hotel offered me 50% off another stay with them - I want a partial refund, I doubt I’ll see it or the £50 damage deposit they take (again look on trip advisor) Breakfast was tasty and the spa and pool were quite nice but it was in no way a relaxing stay, avoid if there likely to be a function, I guess?

Lovely, pleasent staff, fabulous breakfast, very comfy beds, good in room amenities. Spa and pool area great too as we could watch kids (11 &9) in the pool while in the sauna. Good location for London (tube from Uxbridge), Windsor, Harry Potter studios, legoland.

Locker rooms REEKED of urine, to the point the smell was intolerable and we had to hold our breath while walking through to the pool. A thorough cleaning or plumbing inspection needed! The guest rooms are also NOT soundproof. You can hear every little noise of other guests; conversations, tv’s, footsteps, door closing, coughs, toilet flushes. Housekeeping also allows doors to slam repeatedly during cleanings at 6:30/7am. They should perhaps prop doors open while cleaning instead of reopening multiple times, especially before 9am when U.S. travelers are getting adjusted to time changes. Location of hotel is very far from any sightseeing areas of interest to tourists. Restaurant menu prices very high. Rooms are cramped, much smaller than any I’ve ever stayed in, across about 11 different countries. We just stayed out as much as possible. Didn’t receive the value paid for this booking. Unfortunately we won’t return.
