William, who owns the guest house was extremely accommodating, helpful and friendly. The room was clean & comfortable, with a good little shower room en suite. Everything you could think of was provided - biscuits, tea & coffee, fridge, extra radiator if needed, all forms of toiletries etc. We ordered breakfast by choosing anything we wanted from a really comprehensive menu the night before and it was laid out for us in the breakfast room at exactly the time we had asked for it. William even organised a driver to take us to and pick us up from a gig at the Stadium of Light. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.

The spa was great, treatments were fantastic as were all staff! Weekend away on a budget, it was great. We left here and went to stay at Hilton hotel , paid 3x more for a room there and bannantynes was better, not as big, but better, and I never thought I’d hear anyone say that! Bannantynes was excellent value for money!

房間寬敞,小廚房不錯,基本住宿。房間有點累,有點黴味,但很乾淨,睡得很好。在酒吧辦理入住很直接,酒吧工作人員很好。幾輛公共汽車可以在附近被抓住,大約10分鐘到鎮上(£2單或£4天通行證)。我會再次入住:)

Very nicely decorated room with theme. Very impressive room inferior design and very cost. Aircon is provided and the room is very nice. Definitely come again. Close to town center and restaurants. Good price and good stay.

From our first encounter with the ladies at the hotel Reception, Rachael, Karen and Margaret it was obvious that this place is special. My wife and I can honestly say that it's the Staff and People working here that are far above 5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. Ryan, with his professional manner and enthusiasm is a gentleman. Mandy and Tigan in the restaurant with smiles that would light up Antarctica in winter 🌞 pure angels. These are just a few of the special stars that make up the essence of this hotel. And apologies if we left anybody out. Having been blessed to travel and work as a diplomat most of my life, my wife and I can honestly say that this is in our top 10 locations in the world! BRAVO and gratitude to all who made our stay and celebration of our very special wedding anniversary so memorable. We will forever hold the Sixty-One Durham Hotel, in our hearts and memories.
