We had an excellent and relaxing stay at Belton Woods Hotel. The staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. The food especially the breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. During our stay we used the pool and spa facilities which were all very clean, the pool was nice and warm and large enough for doing few lengths without getting in to anyone's way.

Disappointed with my stay , rooms getting tired heating in room poor. Woken up at 3.30am by a guest asleep and snoring loudly in the corridor. Called reception, someone came saw could not wake the man so left him there. Not really the right thing to do as was disturbing other guests.

De kamers zijn verouderd, er ligt overal vloerbedekking, dit i.c.m. Een vieze airco die nauwelijks koelt maar vooral veel herrie maakt en bedden die doorzakken en kussens die erg hard zijn, had ik veel meer hiervan verwacht. Ik zou hier pas nog een keer heen gaan als alles is gerenoveerd. Tijdens het verblijf ging om 6:15 het brandalarm af en moest iedereen evacueren. Dit kwam door een gesprongen waterleiding. En resulteerde in geen water meer uit de kraan, geen douche en ook geen toilet doorspoelen tot een uur of 14:00. Dus ook geen koffie bij het ontbijt. Geen enkel excuus of iets van het hotel uit, erg jammer

A Stay of Two Halves! A stay of 2 halves really - the staff were great, all of them, couldn't do enough for you but sadly this wasn't enough to get this review above an average rating. Disappointing really as we were looking forward to a night away with good food not too far from home. The let down was the food in the restaurant which was pretty grim and not becoming of a place like this. Let me start with a caveat - you can read my other reviews and see I'm not a serial moaner, far from it, so it takes a lot for me to stand at reception as I did this morning and be very unBritish! So let's begin shall we. My starter, which was supposed to be cauliflower tempura, was actually brocolli in fish batter which was thick and pretty undercooked. The dip that was with it had negative taste as well! Lordy it was bad as well as being 100% wrong! The main was an average burger with warm coleslaw that had a bit of fizz to it so that first mouthful was grim and that was left to ferment in its dish - no idea how long that had been sat on a worktop in the kitchen! Frozen fries as well did not a decent dish maketh. And the dessert was pretty bland. Sadly my wife faired even worse. She looked at the menu before we left home and was impressed that it stated that all the mains could be made as vegan and gluten-free options if reauired (she's celiac and has real issues if the food contains any dairy or wheat) but the reality is that only one starter could be and only 2 mains - one of which she couldn't have on the n
