Nous sommes arrivés vers 23h30 pour un séjour de deux nuits… et dès le lendemain à 8h, nous étions déjà repartis. Si l’extérieur peut paraître joli au premier abord, la chambre, elle, était tout simplement innommable. Draps tachés et troués, salle de bain dans un état catastrophique : un manque d’hygiène flagrant. Si un service sanitaire existe au Sri Lanka, cet établissement devrait être contrôlé en urgence. Je vous laisse juger par vous-même avec les photos. Franchement, je me demande comment cet endroit peut encore recevoir des avis positifs

Sandali Walauwa est un endroit charmant, avec un cadre verdoyant et bien entretenu qui invite à la détente. Nous y avons passé 4 nuits en attendant d'avoir un vol retour pendant les évènements au moyen orient. Les écureuils sont souvent présents, ce qui ajoute à l’ambiance nature. Un singe est aussi passé devant nous, ce qui a été une vraie surprise ! La piscine est superbe et très agréable pour se détendre. L’établissement est proche de la plage : il faut simplement traverser la voie ferrée puis la route pour y accéder. Des restaurants de plage se trouvent à proximité, ce qui est pratique pour déjeuner ou dîner au bord de l’eau. Le personnel est accueillant et serviable, toujours prêt à aider. La cuisine est bonne, même si le service peut parfois être un peu long. Seul petit bémol : la salle de bain mériterait une rénovation. À noter également le passage du train, qui peut surprendre mais cela fait parti du cadre. (prendre une chambre près de la piscine pour moins l'entendre) Dans l’ensemble, un lieu paisible et authentique, idéal pour profiter de la nature et de la plage.

Nach unserer Sri Lanka Rundreise konnten wir uns sehr gut im Sandali Walauwa erholen. Die sehr gepflegte Gartenanlage mit täglich gereinigtem Swimmingpool luden zum Verweilen ein. Die Zimmer sind sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet. Täglich gibt es frische Blumen und Trinkwasser. Bis zum Meer sind es nur 5 Minuten zu laufen, man bekommt frische Badetücher vom Hotel, Liegen stehen kostenfrei zur Verfügung. Das gesamte Personal ist sehr höflich und freundlich und ist gern behilflich bei der Wunscherfüllung, Dinesh fuhr uns ins Ayurvedacentrum, wo wir tolle Behandlungen bekamen oder auch mit uns zum Einkaufen. Das Frühstück ist gut und schmackhaft, bietet immer frisches Obst und Fruchtsäfte. Gelegentlich haben wir in der gemütlichen Hotelanlage zum Abend gegessen, besonders können wir da das Curry empfehlen. Auch Ausflüge in die Umgebung können vor Ort gebucht werden. Toll fanden wir die Bootstour durch die Mangroven.

Dinesh was excellent to help you out, he took us in tuk tuk to the beach, restaurant, shops, always on hand to help you, would pick you up and bring you back.other staff were attentive to your needs. Pool was excellent, clean, and refreshing.rooms were clean and tidy.

​If you are looking for a cozy, authentic escape away from large, soul-less resorts, Sandali Walauwa is an absolute gem in Bentota. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine Sri Lankan hospitality and made to feel right at home. ​The property has so much character—lush tropical gardens, a lovely swimming pool at its center, and a calm, quiet atmosphere that instantly puts you in holiday mode. Our room was spacious, sparkling clean, and featured traditional wooden furnishings along with a private balcony overlooking the greenery and pool area. ​Tucked away in a peaceful spot, yet only a short stroll or quick tuk-tuk ride to Bentota Beach. The home-cooked food was exceptional! Don't miss out on their fresh seafood—the poolside dinner with jumbo prawns was a real treat. Incredibly attentive and friendly without being intrusive. They helped organize local outings and a river safari effortlessly. ​It’s the kind of small, intimate hotel where you can read by the pool surrounded by tropical birds, enjoy great local cuisine, and unwind completely. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to friends traveling to Bentota!
