來自住宿之回應: Hi Kerin, thank you for your review. We do have DSTV (I am sure of this as I pay the Multichoice bill every month and we know what shows on our TVs!). It is a selected bouquet of channels, not just the SABC channels. I am not sure if you tried to access another bouquet (we have had guests in the past try and access, for example, the Indian Bouquet, which we do not have and then claim it does not work) but I can assure you there is DSTV. The rooms do not have electric blankets (we do not claim to have these anywhere and when you enquired beforehand I did tell you this) however, as you say, the heaters provided do the trick. Yes the WIFI signal can be weak as we are in the country and the mountains affect signal strength. Sadly, we are not in the city where there is fibre so we work with what we have. The signal is better closer to reception and we do have a spot where guests can sit and work. In terms of security, we have not had any problems in the past and do not foresee any either. We are at the end of the road and it is not a through road so there is not much traffic. There is also a security camera up on the road to monitor who comes in and out of the valley and this is linked to a control room. As there is only one road in to our area and we have a very strong community security group I do not see anyone managing to steal a car out here as they will not get very far. I am from JHB myself (we bought the lodge 5 years ago) and I feel far safer out here than I ever did in our access controlled, boomed off road in JHB. Having said that, we do understand the concerns of our guests and we will be putting up a fence and gate as soon as finances allow. We are aware of the areas that need upgrading...we are getting back on our feet after COVID and will be pushing forward with more renovations in future. We have been here five years and yes, there is still a lot of work to be done, however we have already done so much!!! and most of our guests appreciate that and enjoy the beautiful views and the wonderful feeling of being away from it all. They can overlook the imperfections because they know that we are working on them and they can see the bigger picture and appreciate all the other great things about our place. I disagree with you about the selection in the breakfast menu and feel that the R90 we charge is fair. You make it sound like all you get is an omelette when in fact there is also tea, coffee, juice, cereals, yoghurt and fruit available as part of the breakfast. We have never had anyone tell us the menu is 'not much' in the way of selection and feel the options are more than sufficient. Yes, we are 20 minutes from Royal Natal...close by...thank you for pointing that out. I am glad you feel our staff were friendly and hospitable...they are a great group of ladies! I am sorry you did not feel satisfied...however I get the feeling you are someone who desires way more than most and so not many places will be to your satisfaction...
