Friendly staff, clean room and great service! I arrived early in Berlin on a hot day and really appreciated that my room was ready for me, before official check-in. This was my first time in a Motel 1, but I will definitely return. Great location too!

Arrived at 2 pm and was told that no room would be available before 3 pm. I asked if there was any private space to pump breast milk and was told I would have to do it on the toilet. I found a closet on the way but was told that I could not even use that.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, As stated in your reservation confirmation, rooms are available to all our guests from 3:00pm. In some cases we also have rooms available for early check-in. However, for organisational reasons, this cannot be guaranteed or firmly booked. As Motel One does not have breastfeeding rooms, we cannot offer this either. Cleaning products and dirty laundry are stored and washed in the room you mentioned. Furthermore, there is no seating available there. As this is a service room, for security reasons is the access for non-employees prohibited. Our staff had offered you a suitable alternative as well as priority check-in. We are very sorry that you found this service insufficient.

Motel One was a pleasant surprise. On the outside, it looks like a bunker; on the inside, it has small but exceptionally well-designed rooms with everything a business traveler needs, a lovely back patio, nice bar and reasonable breakfast. The location can't be beat: just around the corner from Oranien Platz and the heart of Kreuzberg. One thing: one side of the hotel faces busy Prinzenstrasse. See if you can get a quieter room facing the back. It makes all the difference.

My wife and I spent 4 nights at this basic and very overpriced hotel. On the plus points (there are not many) the hotel is next to the underground station, has a nice lobby and the internet is good, but that is it. In all other respects, this hotel is rubbish. The rooms are tiny (barely enough for one person), no tea/coffee facilities, bathroom is tiny and beds are very uncomfortable. You are also next to a busy roundabout so all night you can hear police and ambulence sirens and local drunks blasting music all night. Overpriced for what is essentially a youth hostel.

everything great except the constant slamming door to the stairwell/escalators that is right next to my bedroom - please fix this!

This hotel is just a classic from the Motel One chain. Consistently decent. We had a decent size room, nicely decorated, clean and tidy. They’ll hold you’re luggage for you. It’s less than 100m from a U Barn stop. Walking decent of decent pubs and bars. I think I’d stay here again for the location alone!

Whislt the hotel name suggests a central location it really is on the fringe of Mitte. This was ideal for me as I wated to explore Kreuzberg, but go more central if you really want to be Mitte based. Hotel was fine. Small but clean room. For a mid priced hotel the facilities are very basic. No kettle in room, in fact not even a cup or glass, just a small paper cup. Breakfast was ok. Staff friendly and efficient. Overall was satisfactory, ,but I left feelig there was probably better value to be had elsewhere, but at least you know what you are getting with Motel One.

It’s an ok place for a short stay. Small rooms, breakfast is not impressive. No scramble eggs, only boiled. But nice restaurand/waiting area to work.

We would recommend this hotel, very close to very good public transport. Staff very friendly and helpful. On a busy street but still very quiet in rooms when windows are closed.

This was an excellent hotel, specially for the price. Normal size hotel rooms, actually more spacious than others. modern furniture. Very welcoming lobby appearance and staff. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Comfortable bed. A mini super market very close by, but nothing really else is close. I used the train a ton and the U-Bahn is just steps away, along with the bus stop, so that was a huge perk for me. Also a 10 minute walk from Kruezberg night life. Would definitely stay here again!

Hotel is clean, but I reserved a “cosy one” room, with a 140 cm “French size” bed, but got put in a room with a small 90cm bed instead, and then got told that was all there was an all the rooms were booked, so there was nothing else left. They tried to offer a free drink, but what I just wanted wad the room I reserved. Very unprofessional… I stayed in hotels with closets bigger than this room.

Very well presented reception, bar and breakfast room on the lower floor. Ramp access for wheelchair and luggage.
Luggage storage room - pre check in and post check out.
Daily servicing of room was to a very high standard.
In general the hotel is very clean and has an 'as new' look to it.
Our room was one of the smaller ones but with some thought we used it with comfort.
We used 'packing cubes' for clothing, which is helpful as there are some shelves but no drawer units.
The room rate is good value for money.
I thought bar prices were high, but have no experience of prices in other Berlin hotels.
All staff we encountered were super helpful and friendly.
