艾克桑特高級旅館酒店(Hotel Pension Xantener Eck)

Das Hotel liegt in der Nähe von U- und S-Bahn und ist daher bestens geeignet die Stadt zu erkunden. Die Zimmer sind nicht sehr groß, aber zum Übernachten reicht es. Wir hatten ein Zimmer zur Straße und es war daher, ohne Klimaanlage, schwer bei offenen Fenster zu schlafen. Durch das gute Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist das Hotel eine überlegenswerte Alternative, wenn man nicht in den Budget-Hotelketten übernachten möchte.

Eine einfache, sehr gut geführte Pension mit guter Anbindung. Das Zimmer war sehr sauber, wenn auch die Einrichtung und das Bad etwas in die Jahre gekommen sind. Es gab ein ausreichend gutes Frühstück zum kleinen Preis. Der Service war perfekt.

Unwelcoming. The walls and carpet are covered with stains. Half of the bulbs in the bathroom didn't work. The beds are lumpy. The bathroom counter is damaged and the carpeting pulled away from the trim. The shower head desperately needs cleaning with vinegar to remove the calcium buildup of ages. Every piece of furniture seems to have come from a different dumpster in the 1980s.

This is tough. I’ve never been to Germany before so almost every part of the trip has been special. Even things that might not be special normally. The room itself was nice enough. I had two twins pushed together which was welcome. However only one pillow. The TV didn’t work and I had hoped when they cleaned the room they’d fix it. Did not. The room was clean and roomy and had very tall ceilings. I loved the huge window that looked out over the street. And it was surprisingly quit. Sleep was easy. Te bathroom was very small and the shower was tiny. It had a separate hot and cold handle so getting the right temp was difficult. Breakfast was very good and I really like the dining room. You need 3 keys to get to your room. The street door was poorly lit so it was a small challenge to open. Then the foyer and stairway were completely unlit. Luckily the was a light on upstairs so you could see the stairs. I can’t imagine a single woman feeling comfortable there after dark. The elevator was a piece of art. It worked for me once and not twice. When first arriving our group had to carry all our bags up the stairs. The cafe/bar downstairs was wonderful. They had amazing food, great service, and ice! The hotel overall was sadly not wonderful. I hope they are able to do the work to bring the place up to what it once was. Keep in mind I’m an American and have a totally different idea of what a bed and bathroom size should be. I might have giver an extra star had there been a small fridge. I kept having to walk to the store every time I was thirsty. Once again possible and American issue of wanting everything I drink cold. That was more than o would normally write. I feel sad giving a 2 star rating so wanted to be detailed.
