The hotel rooms are small but clean and comfortable and the pool is warm. That's unfortunately where the good things end. The service at the restaurant, over our 8-day visit, was pathetic. Absolutely no care, very very slow, lacklustre, shocking. The "1.3km of white sand beach" looks pretty. Unfortunately, there is a strong whiff of dirty river type of smell from the lagoon on the wind every evening. The water is algae murky and unswimmable at any time. The "spa" is a 5m² dank hut. The jet skis and boats just add noise to the smell. This place charges a lot of money for the very basic offering it serves up. Especially the terrible, unfriendly service. Not worth the R55k for 2 people for 8 nights at all. Wish we had not booked here.

We stayed at San Martinho Beach Club in December 2014 for a week and although it is certainly a great location with spacious and modern units you don't want to be there when it rains. Our unit's roof leaked every time it rained, to the extent that 2 of the 4 rooms were uninhabitable for several of the days we were there. The attitude of the resort manager also left a lot to be desired and she was not incredibly helpful or sympathetic when the issues were pointed out. We chatted to several other residents at the time who also confirmed that their units were leaking. There were clear signs in the units we looked at that there had been leaks previously. Only when pushed did they consider making alternate arrangements for myself and my family, but frankly the situation was handled poorly and certainly ruined our stay there. When you go with your family and pay for a 4 bedroom house and then are only able to use 2 of the 4 rooms due to leaks it is certainly far from ideal. Even the house in the estate we were offered for the one night, as our unit became uninhabitable due to the stench, was leaking. Out of desperation the one day I asked the resort manager if we can't stay in her house as we clearly could no longer stay in the unit we were in, and she commented that her roof was leaking too. The cleaning and security staff were all friendly and well mannered.

Relaxing, clean, friendly staff and well managed, Well done The Holiday Club. Family have demanded that we return. Had no problem traveling the roads in Mozambique or with the authorities.

What a lovely place. The rooms are clean and everything you need was available and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Locals bugged us everyday to make food at a ridiculous price. Alocal kiosk or place to buy necessities would be nice. The pool table needs attention. The restaurant was very disappointing. Staff was very slow and the food was old and tasteless. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. I will definitely return and recommend the place.

We truly had an amazing experience all round. The views are incredible, the units are stunning and well equipped with aircon and a dial pad to order in from the restaurant or call reception. As a family, the kids were entertained the entire week with cannoes, bicycles, tubes and boat rides. The staff at the entertainment section Enoch, Chad Falicia were incredible and went above and beyond. The location is breathtaking and the resort is clean. The locals do arrive on the beach to sell you a bracelet here but they are respectful, we supported them on day one and they left us in peace for the rest of the week. The only thing that is missing is a little kiosk or small grocery store for your odds and ends which would then tick all aspects of convenience. Overall an incredible stay and we will definitely be back.

Had yet another memorable stay at San Martinho Beach Club. The amenities are great and accommodates all requirements. The rooms are very clean, and the beach is spotless. The water is wonderful. Had a foot massage at the Spa which hit all the right spots. The Sandbar Restaurant caters for all palates, and caters for vegetarians as well. The staff and the manager Daniel are most accommodating. I look forward to another well deserved break soon
