Great hotel, we booked 3 of the 6 rooms between us and each room was immaculate and very well done. Great bedding, comfortable and well maintained. We ate in the restaurant Saturday afternoon everyone was impressed with all our different dishes. Staff were great and the r breakfast Sunday morning delicious too. There is a lounge and terrace to use at any time and after hours, was a really nice extra for us to all sit together rather than go straight back to our rooms at the end of the night. Would definitely recommend.

Went for a birthday lunch here today, great value menu. Me and my mum both had the ham, egg and chips. Portion sizes were great, meal was lovely. The chips were amazing! Then had passion fruit Eton mess for pudding. Staff were friendly and attentive. And as it was my birthday they also done a special treat for me. Will definitely come back! And great to see different menus for different days. Highly recommend.

Staff are friendly and pleasant. My husbands meal was fine but mine was not, the chicken was just like the skin of chicken with no meat so after picking all of that out it was just the curry sauce with rice. I did point this out to the young lady serving who said - was it that bad ! Ten percent service charge which I thought was for large parties but was just the 2 of us. Wont be returning.

Rooms are great. Shower is not great. You have to enter the building via a fire escape if you return after the pub has closed. Was promised our parking would be paid for- it wasn’t. The pub had a board outside stating it was open 7 days a week but yet it was closed from at least 5pm on Sunday 11/6 with no explanation- we had planned drinks and food there. No personal interaction with anyone the whole stay. Rather disappointing really.

We were really looking forward to eating at The Powell after being closed for so long. What a disappointment, you have to order restaurant food at the bar, with the prices charged and the 'waitress' twiddling her thumbs this seemed a bit odd. The starters ordered included the smallest prawn cocktail (about 2tbs of prawns) I have ever seen, not a wedge of lemon in sight, nor a triangle of bread. The beef carpaccio was so small it was hidden under a leaf. The main course faired better but nothing special. The icing on the cake was the added 10% service charge, bit of a cheek when we ordered ourselves at the bar and had to go back 3 times to get drinks. Hoping these issues are teething problems, but for now we won't be rushing back.

Stayed in this lovely hotel whilst cycling the Kent coast . Rooms were very plush and comfortable and very clean .Only complaint ....there was a posh coffee machine but no instructions. After cycling 40 miles a kettle for a cup of tea would have been preferred as the machine was full of coffee granuals which made the process impossible. We ate in the restaurant which was great. Food was hot , tasty and reasonably priced and the decor was lovely . Staff helpful . There was no- one to check us out in the morning which seemed odd we just left our keys . Good place to stop for the night if your cycling this route . Bikes stored in the lounge and pleasant staff helped us carry them on arrival . Thank you
