We booked a one pet friendly king bed suite. We walked through another king suite to check out the quality of the room before making a reservation. The room we walked through was nice, clean, and fresh. There was also a non-refundable $200 pet deposit that is charged at the time of check-in. We were told the fee covers the cost of getting the room deep cleaned and shampooing the carpets after a pet stay. When we walked into our room we immediately smelled the stench of pet urine. We checked out the following day and went to the Marriott Residence Inn.
Positives: Front desk check in staff, Eric, honored his words and acted consistently on what he said the requirements vs what he actually did to provide smooth and fast check-in. Good to have a small token of welcome gift. He practiced active listening and also was responsive when I raised issues on room cleanliness by cleaning and solving the issues. - this hotel does super well is it cleans all corners including hidden areas behind the toilet, which was hard to clean, and they did a good job on that. - All surface cleaned. - Clean bed and towels - Easy parking - Quite - Common areas were very clean including hallways and check in counter. - The hotel has many restaurants nearby and 10 minutes to Indiana University - Decent breakfast Negatives: - Hairs found on the bathroom floors, base of the nightstand - a white cloth string found on the ground next to the iron board inside the closet floor. Could have vacuum better. Other: - Odd that hidden spots were well cleaned and missed the obvious spots. - Hot water temperature is considered fine for most people, but for me, it would be great to be even hotter/higher in temperature. Bathroom cleanliness failed in obvious spots, but hidden spots were well cleaned, so that cancels out, especially the hotel staff made efforts to clean and solved it right away. Good service attitude. Meets expectations. Had the room was well cleaned when I first arrived the room, this hotel would have earned a 4 out of 5 or even 5 out of 5 rating.
that's right, whether it be the recent landscaping the hotel is doing or the new flooring and seating in the breakfast area not long ago, this modern looking jewel on Bloomington's West side takes pride in its appearance and cleanliness. the team is friendly and care about guest comfort and safety. what's more, imagine walking into your room and a personalized welcome message on the [what seems to be 50-inch class] television awaits you - ala Waldorf Astoria. it's obvious ownership at this jewel care about innovation and the guest experience as a whole. beds are the best, goes without saying, thanks for keeping them rotated and fresh. thank you!!
