Kristiania Lech is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World and feels far more like a private Alpine residence than a classic luxury hotel. Set just above the centre of Lech, it offers calm, privacy and a very personal atmosphere. Service is one of the hotel’s strongest assets. Attention feels individual and natural, without stiffness or formality. Practical details are handled quietly in the background, from valet parking and minivan transfers to the ski lifts, to efficient concierge support. Food is central to the experience and is shaped by Belgian chef Jurgen Dirkx. We dined several times in the main restaurant and also enjoyed an excellent fondue chinoise evening in the Kaminzimmer. The cuisine moves confidently between modern Alpine cooking with French influences and classic dishes, always with a strong focus on product quality. Rooms and suites are all different and follow a travel-inspired “Grand Tour” concept. We stayed in the Turandot Suite, which offered generous space, very good comfort and wide views over the village and surrounding mountains. Materials, colours and artworks are carefully selected, giving each room its own identity without feeling over-designed. Kristiania Lech stands out for its calm luxury, personal service and individuality. The full review is published in our magazine, Travel Magazine Belgium.
