DO NOT STAY AT THAT HOTEL. The area is good, but the management is terrible. It was a bad experience in the room on the 8th floor of Hotel 84DC, Bogotá. The desk chairs were dirty and one of them was broken. There was poor ventilation, and we had to request a fan. The bathroom door, if closed, was tough to open; one could get trapped inside, and someone from outside had to push it to open. The room entrance door had no lock on the inside. They only provided one roll of the worst toilet paper per day, and when we complained, they said it was the hotel's policy. The mattresses were as hard as rocks. During the 7 days of our stay, they did not clean the room for two days, and they only changed the towels, lightly cleaned the floor, and took out the trash. They did not change the sheets, etc. The breakfast became riskier each day because there were more spoiled fruits, and the ham and cheese looked dry and unappetizing. I felt embarrassed to bring my wife and daughter to enjoy a week in Bogotá and stay at that hotel. I thought it was a good hotel, but it wasn't. I paid COP 3,270,112 for 7 nights (December 21-28, 2023), of which I had to pay COP 522,119 in taxes as a foreigner, despite the law stating that foreigners do not pay taxes. With $115 per night, you can stay in excellent hotels in Bogotá without having to pay taxes and enduring embarrassment with your family.
