Cheap and tidy

Well this is just fantastic, beautiful room and the price is fantastic. We will definitely stay here again. Great nights sleep lovely and comfortable and a cafe next door for breakfast which was first class. Great for our purpose visiting family.

We booked 3 rooms for one night as we were attending a 60th birthday party at The Sitwell Arms. The standard double rooms were just £55 per night. Rooms have been refurbished, especially bathrooms, to a very good standard. Work still ongoing but you can really see how much has been invested into the upgrade. Rooms really clean and have all the facilities I.e. tv, tea/coffee, towels, hairdryer etc. Breakfast is served just on a Sunday morning at the moment but ideal if you are attending a weekend event nearby. Bargain!!!! The food is excellent and the portions massive for the price. Rooms a little hot but air con seems to have been fitted but not up and running yet. Some rooms noisy on the roadside. These are little things compared to the value for money. Would definitely recommend, especially if you are attending events at the more expensive establishments close by.

For the price you pay The Renishaw is definitely value for money. Staff were friendly on arrival and allowed us to check in early. The rooms are a decent size and well equipped, they're a bit rough around the edges but are generally clean and comfortable and do look to have been renovated recently. The walls are quite thin so expect to hear if your neighbours snore loudly and if you're road facing you will hear it though it's not the loudest thing ever. The room was quite warm when I stayed, there is an AC unit but it seems non functioning, a fan was provided but mine was broken and we didn't return for the night till midnight so couldn't do much about it. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows and duvet, a black out blind on the window and a temperature solution would make this place 5/5, again, for the price you pay.

Stayed for one night for a function being held at the restaurant. Rooms are beautiful, the majority of photos on here are outdated. Bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in at a hotel. Really peaceful area with lovely views. Food for the function and breakfast the next morning were both excellent. Nic and Sim are wonderful hosts. Would definitely recommend either just for a nice meal or a for a stay.

We stayed for only one night , the checking in was very easy and the room was very clean, down stairs they have a restaurant, had a meal there and the food was first class and the staff were very friendly. Wouldn’t hesitate to to stay there again.

Had 2 rooms...one was nice the other was awful. The manager said that they know some of the rooms are much lower quality. Also told us that most rooms do not have working over bed lights so it's not just our room. Told us she's only one person and they're working their way up from bottom floor to the top. Such a shame that the two rooms were so, so different for the same price. Unpainted areas, rolls of carpet in hallways, landings used as storage areas.

Great stay, thank you. Our first time here but won't be our last. Thank you for the amazing hospitality, we will whole- heartedly recommend to our family and friends. Food was also awesome and in a fab spot. Every effort was made to make us feel welcome. Support this local family business ☺️

Stayed for 3 nights in Room 3. I arrived at about 6pm, where the staff checked me in. I had to fill in some information on a form, which was unusual for a UK hotel and UK citizen. I was given the key to my room along with instructions for the room and the hotel building. I also asked about the Wifi password as I figured the staff were about to leave and was told it was in the room. It was not, but luckily I found a member of staff who provided me with the information. The room had a bed and a long desk, which was perfect for me to work on with my laptop. Next to the desk were several electrical sockets and two USB points. Usual amenities in the room included a kettle with coffee, tea, sugar and UHT milk. Other amenities include a hairdryer, towels and hand soap. The bathroom design was odd. It had no door, probably because it’s too narrow to have an inswinging door, so it was open to the bedroom. There was a motion sensor to automatically switch on the light and would automatically switch off again after about 15 minutes. Bit of a waste of electricity IMHO. There’s a shower in the bathroom with a raindrop style showerhead. No problems getting hot water, although I did think the temperature control was difficult to get right. The water pressure was low, although having a raindrop shower head meant there was good water coverage. The bed had a soft/medium mattress and felt quite comfortable. The duvet was thick, although the unsettled weather we’ve been having in August meant the thicker blanket was welcome, providing a comfortable and warm sleep. The staff don’t clean the rooms unless requested to do so. That was fine for me as it was only a 3 night stay. Everything in the room was clean anyway. The hotel has a car park that can fit about 15 cars. The hotel is attached to a pub/restaurant, so the car park was almost full, but I still managed to find a spot. On the other two days, the pub was closed, so the car park was nearly empty. Location wise, it’s about 20 km from Sheffield, but still convenient if you want to explore Yorkshire, Derbyshire and nottinghamshire. Overall, I had a good comfortable stay. I should’ve checked the opening hours for the adjoining restaurant as it made dinner less convenient than I had planned. The staff were friendly and I would be happy to stay again.

Lovely place great setting, room was very nice they upgraded me for free as well. The staff were very friendly and made for a very nice experience. Thanks for making the trip all the better and memorable

A friendly place to stay, maybe a little run down in places but, for the price, it still met expectations. The only real negative was how cold the room was, I ended up using the hair dryer to warm the room! Located on quite a busy road but, once rush hour died down, the road was relatively quiet. I would stay again.

The single room (number 2) was clean and spacious with a decent bath and rainfall shower (although the pressure was a bit low for my liking). And you need to run the water to let it heat up, so bear that in mind! I have to do that at home too! The room was a bit chilly as the radiator wasn't heating quite fully; however a quick message to the manager and an extra blanket was delivered within minutes. I can't comment on the restaurant as it was closed but overall (and for £35) a very good option!

This place is excellent. Everything from the entrance foyer to the rooms. Let me start. There’s a large, free car park leading to the reception area. Well lit and signed and I was greeted by a friendly member of staff who was more than helpful. I was shown to my room which I expected to be basic, wrong. The room is spacious, clean, warm with a large bathroom which had a shower that looked like it was from a sci-fi film. Awesome. I went down to the restaurant where again I was greeted with a smile and the most accommodating host you could wish for. The food, brilliant The drinks, brilliant The atmosphere, brilliant. An old fashioned eatery with a modern feel. The prices are very reasonable indeed. Warm and welcoming. I can highly recommend.

Me and my sister in-law stayed at this hotel last night 11/11/2023, and the staff were absolutely amazing! The rooms are lovely and cosy and the beds are so comfortable! The staff were so helpful when we couldn’t get a taxi to Sheffield arena and even offered to drive us to the tram stop! Absolutely amazing people! The veggie breakfast on the Sunday morning was lovely too! Thank you for a very warm welcome and for being so lovely to us! All the best!xx
