One of the great pleasures in life is to be fortunate enough to visit beautiful hotels for special occasions. I reserved a suite in this hotel - which by the way is beautiful- exquisitely furnished etc - on our journey back to the UK recently . Despite confirming to the hotel at the earliest opportunity that I was offered that I wished to dine in their 2 star restaurant, I was advised that this was not possible as it was fully booked . Notwithstanding the fact that I had requested a table when asked , and was paying $$$$ for a suite - this was not possible . Frankly it is mind boggling that these places remain so arrogant as to abandon their guests who are staying for the evening . Absolutely zero respect for the guest. It’s an easy review to write therefore - a beautiful property that places the client firmly at the bottom of the agenda. For that I would encourage people to avoid - there are many very good alternatives nearby . Oh … trivial but just about sums it up … on arrival in Bordeaux- the heart of French wine country - we were offered a glass of sparkling water as a welcome drink …. Go figure ! You couldn’t make it up ….
