湖濱釣魚旅館

I give the view a better rating but for cleanliness and hospitality clearly none here. Firstly on entering the accommodation it was lovely and spacious with fabulous views of the countryside and lake not forgetting their bragged about grand design house. To say they live there couldn't be bothered to even say hi. Health and safety...... scalding water on all taps none with warning signs (but dont feed the stray cats was more important to them) this was important as my elderly parents cant feel their hands to good and even myself and hubby got scalded. Shower to slippy for elderly no mats to stick down in the base no grab rails either to add to the hazard. The cubicle glass not fitted properly. Fully equipped kitchen..... As a poorly lit area kitchens are a hazard enough, Alot to be desired as pictured two frying pans and a botch job of steamer pan didn't fit properly had three glass lids only one fits two just for looking at ...not 1 but 4 Pyrex lasagna rectangular shaped don't fit in micro no icebox no veg peeler no tuperware for micro no sharp knives all crockery not matching looks like it started as a butterfly theme as the log was called this but lost over the years theres a butterfly tablecloth with rip in it looks like its been in use since day 1. All this to accommodate 6. Cleanliness throughout.... I dropped a item of clothing on the floor in the bed room picked it up covered in dust. Thought oh ok ill run a hoover round there isn't one or a mop and bucket just a small brush n pan and a dirty spray mop can say my hopes of a tranquil break away was dashed . Then I was disgusted by chewing gum yes you read it right chewing gum on door frames. We saw cleaners at neighbouring accommodation and omg to say there was two cleaners they were in and out faster than ever expecting this looking at the cleanliness we had. They ask in rules to kindly keep bait out of cabins which is fine but as they provided NO lock boxes or storage at cabin for this use needless to say all got drown in the rain. I know its a family run business but standards are standards and this was appalling I generally clean before leaving but as I didn't pack my mop and bucket or hoover let alone bleach this went undone. I do hope you all read reviews because I wish I looked further now. WONT BE GOING AGAIN.

Have just returned from our third stay at wonderful Lakeside Lodges. We stayed, as usual, in Dragonfly Lodge and it was as clean, comfortable and well equipped as it always is. My son and I come for the fishing, which never disappoints. This trip we caught 6 species of fish, all in pristine condition, which is always the case. If you want a peaceful stay at a top class lodge, with quality fishing from the decking right outside your front door, then I would highly recommended Lakeside Lodges to you. Keith Carter
