Das Hotel ist von vorne bis hinten im Stil der Bel Epoche eingerichtet. Es stumm absolut alles, bis ins kleinste Detail. Beim Frühstück bleibt kein Wunsch offen. Auch hier stimmt alles. Auf jedem Stückchen Butter liegt eine kleine Blüte, die Eier werden nach Wunsch ( und evtl. eigenen Zeitangaben) gekocht… Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt .

Un edificio in art deco, un tempo centrale telefonica, oggi splendido boutique hotel con un arredamento inusuale e accattivante. Sicuramente è il miglior hotel di Bovec. Al mattino la colazione a buffet è ricca di prelibatezze e viene servita in un piacevole giardino d'inverno. Non abbiamo usufruito della sauna che non è inclusa nel prezzo. Un plauso al personale della reception per l'estrema cortesia e disponibilità.

Situé juste à la sortie de la ville de Bovec mais sans être éloigné du centre, voici un bel établissement très bien tenu et décoré avec gout. Les chambres avec terrasses donnant sur un jardin sont agréables. Par contre, il n'y a pas de restaurant contrairement à ce qui est indiqué dans les guides de voyage. Tout serait parfait si les tarifs n'étaient pas aussi exagérément élevés. Dommage !

Alles klopt, de ontvangst, de kamer, de sfeer, het geweldige ontbijt. Maar de vriendelijke mensen, de voortdurende aandacht echt een prachtplek om te verblijven. De kamer is ruim en schoon, het bad is prachtig maar een beetje onhandig, vanaf het balkon een prima uitzicht op de omgeving. De wijnkelder en het wijnadvies zijn van grote klasse.

The young lady at check-in was very welcoming and professional. The hotel’s common areas are beautiful. Room was large and bed was comfortable. Air conditioning was not effective due to little air movement. We asked the staff and they said that the system’s fan only has one very low speed. As a result, the room does not get cool enough and it is stuffy. Breakfast is beautifully presented, and all the items are fresh. The gentleman serving in the breakfast room was very pleasant and efficient. Breakfast is not served until 8:00 which prevents guests from getting an early start. There is also a sign that states, “Only the first cup of coffee for breakfast is free.” Never in all my travels have I seen that type of statement in a hotel such as this. I’m not sure what management’s reasoning is behind that, especially considering the room prices charged.

The hotel can be found at the entrance of the village, with generous private parking next to the building (free of charge for guests). The historic building is beautifully and thoughtfully restored, with a lot of attention to detail. As you get in, you will find friendly and helpful reception staff; as they also cover the terrace bar, you might need to ring the bell. The rooms are on the upper two floors and can be reached by an elevator. The spacious rooms with balcony feature a beautiful view onto the mountains (the only shortfall: no umbrellas / shading provided); for those staying in rooms that don’t have the view, there is a common terrace that features similar views (only one floor down…), and an extensive garden (a further floor down). The rooms also feature a spacious wardrobe, a minibar, and even some sockets with USB outlets; they have no desk, but rather two armchairs and a small side / coffee table. The WiFi worked well in the room (less so on the terrace). I wonder how many guests made a picture of the bathrooms, where again a lot of attention was paid to bring retro features alive – when was the last time you bathed in a free-standing bathtub that seems to be from the last century? The bathroom has space for two, and a whole cupboard for your toiletries (if you figure out how to open it…). A downside of the retro details: despite the curtain, showering in the bathtub (not comfortable anyway, with nothing to hold the shower head) leaves the room flooded. The beds are comfortable (slept very well), with two pillow types; it is blissfully silent at night – you wake up to the sound of birds. Some of the windows feature roller shutters; the curtains on the others are heavy but translucent, so don’t fully keep the daylight out. Good breakfast is included in the room charge, and served in the beautiful wintergarden; some homemade stuff is on offer, eggs and coffee made freshly for you. The check-out is earlier than usual (10 am), but you can sit on the terrace until you leave.

Everything about Hotel Dobra Vila is first class. Our room was large, well-equipped and had mountain views from 2 sides of the room. The terrace and gardens are beautiful. The weather was warm while we were in Bovec, and it was very nice to have a late-afternoon drink under an umbrella on the terrace, or in the shade of a tree in the garden, while enjoying stunning scenery. Breakfast was served on the terrace and was excellent – scrambled eggs made to order, smoked salmon, a variety of top quality fresh fruit, very nice yoghurt as well as cereals, cheeses, cold meat, bread etc. Finally, the staff were outstanding. The receptionist/bar attendant was delightful; she was helpful, friendly and informative. She also very kindly delivered my handbag to our room after I accidentally left it on the terrace. The manager was also friendly, efficient and very hospitable. We highly recommend Dobra Vila.

We fell in love for the first sight with this hotel, when we entered at the reception. The interior is very nicely designed till the last book on the shelves. We loved our room on the top floor too. It was spacious and had a great view to the surrounding hills. The breakfast on the next morning was also delicious. Fortunately, we had a good weather, so we could have breakfast in the garden. We had great variety of food we could choose from, and the tables were lovely set. The staff was helpful, and rooms were certainly clean. The city center is in walking distance. What can I say, we loved our stay there.

We stayed three nights in this lovely hotel with our two teenagers and we all wish it could have been longer. The hotel was beautiful and clean and the host was top notch. We enjoyed drinking wine on the porch and playing cards or relaxing. It is a beautiful setting. Additionally, the breakfast was incredible. The rest of our trip every breakfast was compared and didn’t live up to it. We hope to be back some day.

This is a boutique hotel experience with all the extras. It’s a historical location with a unique vibe. Has a lot of posters that bring personality. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed without being fussy. The owners are accommodating, gracious, and proud of the experience they’ve built. It’s a great place to relax after taxing hikes on the way here. The wine and beer on the terrace are an added bonus to a perfect day.

We stayed here for a couple of nights and have to say that the unfriendly staff made the experience not as pleasant as it could be. The hotel is at a beautiful location, the decor in rooms is a bit run down, but the worst thing is the attitude we got from the staff at reception, we did not feel welcome and it ruined our experience.

Well-appointed Hotel in center of Town. Staff was professional and very helpful. Breakfast had several cold meats, cheese, and cereal. Scrambled eggs finished the course. Room was quite comfortable. Easy walking distance to several restaurants.

Hotel was good but not great - my biggest issue would be value for the money. Breakfast was okay and yes it is in a historical former telephone exchange. Parking right next to hotel is free. Room was sort of dated but staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed a couple of days and basically went back and forth between Bovec and Kobarid in the Soca Valley. They are 30 minutes drive apart and if you love the outdoors you could could spend a week here easily. My point is that if you have a car you can home-base out of either town - and you will be spending most of your time outdoors anyway. I would check prices and if I did it again I would find a more cost-effective alternative hotel because you spend very little time in the hotel in this area. If you want to pay more this hotel is a fine alternative, nothing hugely wrong with it. I just thought it was expensive for what we got, compared to similar properties in Croatia and Slovenia.
