圓頂屋旅館(Dome House)

Stayed here for a Birthday weekend break and it was great. Joyce was very helpful when we arrived and me and my partner were very pleased with the room we stayed in. Very spacious nice decor and we had everything we needed. Bathroom was lovely. Great view to wake up to in the morning. We enjoyed the breakfast with more than enough to set you up for the day. Bed was comfy. Overall pleasant experience and would happily stay again.

Stayed 2 nights in this lovely hotel. When we arrived the hotel, Joyce (who co-ran the hotel) gave myself and my girlfriend a full tour of the house, which is beautifully decorated, and showed us to our room. The balcony overlooked the whole of windermere and the room itself was lovely. A basket full of things for breakfast each morning arrived outside our door and was also beautifully prepared.

We literally were greeted with shouting, slander, & prejudice from the moment we stepped our feet from the taxi before even entering the hotel (She literally LOCKED the doors of the hotel so we wouldn’t enter holding part of the family inside the hotel) Long story: This is a story of how prejudice and prejudgment is a no-no when you run a business. The crazy story starts like this; We’re two families of 8, 4 of us will stay at this ill-fated hotel, the other 4 of us (including me) staying at a different hotel. The 4 family members booked 2 rooms for 4 guests at this hotel. The lovely hostess made it clear via multiple emails with threatening tone that the hotel will not accommodate more than 4 guests. all 8 of us were very aware of that. We couldn’t find a taxi that fit 4 persons with the luggage so we decided to split, 3 person with the luggage in one taxi and a second taxi for our elderly mother accompanied by me (Mind you I’m staying at another hotel and have NO interest in staying in this hotel whatsoever. I was just a company). The first taxi arrived to the hotel with the 3 family members before we did, They entered the hotel, dropped the luggage and went to take a look at the rooms. 5 minutes later our taxi arrived, the very first moment we stepped our feet out of the taxi this lovely bigoted hostess decided in the most barbaric way to POUNCE out of the hotel and start screaming at us as if we were criminals saying “I KNEW YOU WERE FIVE GUESTS NOT FOUR, DO NOT HIDE, I CAN SEE YOU, YOUR TRICK HAS BEEN EXPOSED, YOU ALWAYS DO THIS” Hinting at Arabs. To make things worse, her little racist head didn’t think to take a deep breath and ask why 5 people showed up at her most desirable luxurious-exclusive-7-stars hotel, no, she didn’t do that. She thought it was a good idea to immediately without even hearing 1 word from us to LOCK the door of her little hotel holding the 3 family members hostage inside the hotel and then she started attacking them and shouting at them that we are frauds. I REPEAT SHE LOCKED THE DOOR OF THE HOTEL SCREAMING HYSTERICALLY AT THE 3 FAMILY MEMBERS INSIDE WHILE THEY WERE SO CONFUSED AND SCARED. I was anxious trying to open the door to rescue the rest of the family from this crazy lady, god knows what her racist mind would do. I can hear her howling hysterically at them from outside the LOCKED hotel. I started shouting that she made a wrong assumption and I (the 5th person) will not staying at her hotel. She finally realised it was dumb to lock the door and opened it. She calmed afterwards and tried to deescalated her racist prejudgment actions and gave a wonderful fake apology which was not accepted. I explained to the lovely prejudiced hostess that the family don’t feel safe after her aggressive behaviour and demanded a refund. She refused. We left immediately witho

We had the most lovely stay at Dome house. We had the Loughrigg room and it was so bright, cosy and spacious. The swimming pool is amazing and the breakfast that is delivered to your door each morning is so thoughtful. The warm croissants and spreads are to die for! The living area upstairs is so cosy in the evenings especially with the fire on. Phil & Joyce are such lovely, welcoming hosts and you should make the most of their online recommendation list for restaurants as we had some really good meals recommended by them. The house is also only a 5 min walk to the main high street which is handy. Will 100% be returning back here!! Plus they have the cutest dogs!

We spent a rainy weekend in Windemere and the Dome House was the perfect retreat. Joyce and Phil have really thought through every little detail to make a stay extra special and we had everything catered for we could possibly want and more. From the breakfast basket, local produce (the most amazing Cumbria chocolates!), to the house itself which is unique and beautiful. We loved spending time in the gorgeous lounge playing board games in the afternoon with the fire on, and in the evening we helped our self to a drink thanks to the honesty bar. The Dome House feels like a quiet haven tucked in to the hillside but with the benefit of being centrally located (just a 10 minute walk down the hill to restaurants and shops in Bowness or if you go 10 minutes uphill you can walk up to Brant Fell and overlook the lake). If you are looking for a romantic/relaxing getaway this is the perfect spot!

Fabulous spot to stay for a couple nights away. The views from this property are stunning. The owners were welcoming and I have no doubt had any issues occurred they would’ve been more than happy to help. 5-10 minute walk down into the town. Free parking at the property is a great perk.

An amazing 2 night stay at Dome House for a special birthday. The room ( Windermere View) was perfect. Lots of space, kitchen area, and amazing view of the lake!. The pool was a fantastic bonus and we used it both days. The Dome Room at the top of the house was open for guests as a lounge area - such a lovely, relaxing, cosy room with open beams which added to the feel of the room. The honesty bar, table football and popcorn maker were welcome additions. Continental breakfast delivered to our room was delicious. The hosts were very friendly and helpful Would highly recommend for anyone looking for somewhere very special.

Done House is beautiful and stunning accommodation in a beautiful part of the world. We couldn’t really ask for more. Our room was spacious, very clean, and decorated in a gorgeous way. Joyce and Phil were always on hand for anything extra that we needed. And the continental breakfast was lovely.

Joyce and Phil were there to greet us on arrival, they make you feel extremely welcome and at home. It's like meeting old friends. The hotel exterior and interior are absolutely incredible. The socialising room is like something from a magazine, amazing views over the lakes and the bonus of an honesty bar. Perfect setting to relax, take in the views and enjoy a drink. The rooms were spacious, spotless and really well designed to maximize comfort. The breakfast was lovely, really well presented, fresh and tasty. We had nothing but positives from this hotel and we will definitely be returning.
