Many problems with room, advertised services not operating
The room we were given (room 113) was very disappointing - rather small, very dark (facing a wall opposite), just one hard and uncomfortable chair, unable to pass between bed and chair if anyone was sitting at the desk. The problems continued... the electric kettle didn't work, but was exchanged promptly. There was only 1 spoon for all of us. The shower dripped continuously, and water accumulated on the bathroom floor, and eventually, the carpet outside also became soaked. We chose Mantra because it had a restaurant and a sauna. Both were closed, and this fact was not disclosed on hotel.com's website when we booked. When we checked in we asked for a room on a higher floor , but were informed that the hotel is fully booked. This may well have been the case, but most guests would not yet have checked in at 3 pm, so our request could have been fulfilled with a bit of goodwill. Next morning we were given an upgrade given all the problems with our room, and this room (608) was far more satisfactory. Overall, we had a rather disappointing experience - the problems should have been noticed and fixed by housekeeping before the room was let, and facilities should not be advertised that are not in fact open .
