I stay in premier inns all the time for business and this is the worst I have stayed in for a long time as it needs a refurb and some TLC. Carpets are thread bare, mould in the bath room, mastic hanging off, holes in the walls, curtains hanging off and unbearably hot due to no air con. The only positive is the bed is comfy

So happy with our stay, we weren’t originally able to get into our room until 3pm, but as were part of a wedding party the staff went above & beyond to enable us to have access to our room just before 1PM! Well done to the cleaning staff for an amazingly quick turn around, thank you!! And thanks to the lovely reception staff, who were very warm & welcoming!!

I stayed at the at the Premier inn Braintree (A120) hotel on Thursday 15/16th August 2024 prior to a flight from Stanstead Airport. I have stayed at this particular Premier Inn many times, the facilities in the area are very good, and it’s only short distance from Stansted Airport with good communications down the A120 to the Airport and M11. On the days in question, I noticed that the temperature in the room to be extremely uncomfortable (as you can see from the photos the temperature was 28/29c in the room), and it meant that I did not get a good night sleep. (even after striping the bed down) There was a fan in the room, but I found this ineffective. As you can see from the second photo Premier Inn does recognise, they have a problem, as they were offering free ice pops and frozen towels (there is also a rehydration station at the reception) Also, the state of the restaurant where I had breakfast left a lot to be desired with the fabric seats badly soiled ad the carpet around the drinks area in a similar condition. The hotel is in dire need of some TLC (and air conditioning) On the day there were numerous complaints from my fellow hotel guest at reception. I have made a complaint to Premier inn as the do ‘promise’ you a good night’s sleep however the only reply I got was a very corporate one and I quote “upon reviewing your concern, I regret to inform you that our Braintree (120) Premier inn does not have air conditioning” and therefore not included in our “Good Night Guarantee”. They did not address the issues in the restaurant. So, make of that as you wish, certainly the ‘Good Night Guarantee” is not worth the paper it’s printed on, and I will not be staying at this hotel again.

Charlie went above and beyond. We arrived late and our room was not at all Premmier Inn standard, but Charlie was amazing and was extremely helpful and sorted it out for us although the hotel was full she was very accommodating and was very helpful.

Super customer service! We checked in quite late and initially had a small issue with the cleanliness of our room. Claire on reception was super quick to assist us and offer us an alternative room. Made a very long tiring day much easier. Thank you

Can always rely on Premier Inn. As a musicians you know you’ll always have a comfy bed and a great breakfast. The Braintree A120 Premier Inn has really good wifi and the staff were excellent. Also, there’s free parking and it’s next to a petrol & and M&S. You can’t ask for more really!

This is a standard Premier Inn. Everything works but the wifi is dodgy. Could not get phone to hook up with wifi in room. Eventually got it to work in restaurant and, thereafter, it worked in room. Breakfast was good (as usual) and its a buffet. No charge for parking.

Let’s start with the good. It’s in a lovely location close to freeport. Slightly easier access than the other Premier inn if walking places. Good size car park for the size of the Premier Inn. Lovely receptionist rather than a self check in . It’s generally cheaper than one across the road The good/bad - it’s an old holiday inn express so has no bath just shower.. however it’s a shower curtain with a top shower unit. Eg bring a shower cap if you don’t want wet hair. Now the unfortunate part. The rooms are old style Premier inn and still look a bit dated. If you want to watch tv in bed, expect to wake with a bad back as they put tv up so it’s not remotely in front of the bed. The rooms are generally noisy, we could hear everything at 10pm and 7pm in peoples rooms and in the corridors. Oh and they don’t appear to do a cooked breakfast on a Sunday. Don’t suggest even the other Premier inn for breakfast.. The shower is quite pitiful considering we were on the ground floor. Towels smell strongly of vinegar, I know hotels send these away but perhaps they want to speak to their washing partner. To be honest this is probably the case of you get what you pay for.. £107 for Friday to Sunday.. if you want my honest opinion, stay across the road, it’s not a whole heap better but it is better.

Lovely stay here for a wedding …. My room was lovely and clean with definite eye to detail …. I would just like to personally thank Bridie for the phone call before I arrived and being so informative for information on the surrounding area … she is a real asset to your business x

Great couple of nights here. Without exception the staff were stand-out helpful & friendly. The beds are so comfy & after a great night's sleep the breakfasts were amazing, individually cooked, nothing too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

We've stayed in many hotels over the years but this one rates as one of the best. The reception staff are helpful and friendly, even when we asked for a ground floor room and extra towels. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. We topped off our visit with the best breakfast ever.

Very friendly and welcoming staff from check in to breakfast the following morning. The room was very clean and comfortable and the bed was also very comfortable. Breakfast service was very quick and with friendly staff. Would definitely use this hotel again.

One stay here when flying from Stansted early the next day. My husband and I travelled separately and I was delayed. The receptionist was excellent, when my husband didn’t answer his phone. Took me to our room and ensured all was okay. Hotel tidy. Room clean. Nice food at a Vintage Inn next door. There is a Brewers Fayre a short walk at the other Premier Inn. Did not have breakfast. Will use again
