This is yet another former school, remodelled into a hotel. We arrived towards the end of dinner service, however, we still managed to get hot dinner at this hotel, which we consider luck. Very friendly and polite staff. The room was fine, we've got the one towards the rear end of the hotel, thus super calm (we were able to sleep with open windows without any noise from the outside). Breakfast was rather standard, but sufficient to set one up for a day. It was a largely ok experience, with my criticism being towards the fact that for the price I would expect to have a hairdryer in the room (and not to have to walk to the reception to get it). Another thing is, the hotel is indeed getting older and signs of looming need for renovation are quite strong. Our bathroom was rather old...

Tres petit, besoin de rafraichissement, les murs et le plafond sont sales un peu. J'ai vu un poisson d'argent dans la salle de bain et des petites mouches. La salle de bain est exigue. L'eau de la douche est soit bouillante ou trop froide., eviter

Ottimo hotel Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel , in un carinissimo Chalet, il bagno era un po’ piccolo ma per per una notte è stato perfetto! La camera era pulitissima. Abbiamo cenato in hotel, ordinando il pesce locale, il salmone e una birra del piccolo birrificio locale , tutto squisito! Personale gentilssimo e disponibile. Assolutamente consigliato!

non posso che iniziare la recensione sottolineando la puzza di cadavere che inebriava tutta la struttura, che jeffrey dahmer sarebbe scappato. situato lontano da ogni forma di vita. camere molto vecchie ma tutto sommato discrete, tranne che per le tende che non chiudevano bene, facendo entrare luce per tutta la notte (che ricordo essere molto luminosa a luglio in islanda). cena triste e colazione ancor di più. personale gentile, facevano quasi tenerezza quei ragazzi. hotel sconsigliato.

small hotel that was probably formerly a school. Small rooms and bathroom. Restaurant sufficent but very high prices. Very nice staff especially the guy who served us dinner. Location not far from the nearest village

I've never stayed in a boarding house before, so this was a unique hotel experience. The room was really comfortable and I got a great night's sleep. Prior to dinner, I was able to take a long hike up the back of the property and the views were phenomenal. Dinner was delicious, the staff was great, and breakfast got the job done. The only thing to be careful about is the shower since it's really easy to flood the whole bathroom.

Oud, bijna vervallen hotel. De chalets achter het hotel staan midden in de afvaldumpplek van het hotel. Het chalet zelf zat vol met vochtvlekken. Ook mochten we niet langer dan 10 minuten douchen. Meer warm water was er niet. De eigenaar bood een diner aan. Er was alleen keuze uit vis of kip en en een cheescake na. Er werd ons niets verteld over het menu en prijzen. Achteraf betaalden we voor het matige diner de hoofdprijs. Toen ik vroeg om de menukaart van het hotel werd er ineens een schoolbord omgedraaid met daarop de belachelijk hoge prijs. Dit hadden we nog nergens betaald op IJsland. Toen ik de eigenaar confronteerde met zijn malafide praktijken haalde hij zijn schouders op en zei niets te kunnen doen. Gelukkig maar 1 nacht en daarna door met genieten van dit prachtige land.

I stayed here for one night. The hotel is quite isolated but the area is very nice - large, green. The rooms are basic, small. The bathrooms are quite small and for the shower area they do not have a basin - its' a shared floor with the rest of the bathroom so when you take a shower you need to be careful not to get wet everything around. They have also an outdoor jacuzzi. The dinner was pre-ordered (we were a 30person group) - quite good. The bar is limited - they had wine, beer and other alcohols but they did not know how to prepare cocktails. The staff was very nice and helpful - the hotel is managed by a family. The breakfast was basic.

My brother and I booked a room for only a night 'cause we need an hotel in this zone for our trip in East Iceland. Every member of the staff was warm and helpful with us. Dinner and breakfast were good and we have a lot of choice. Room was equipped with everything you need for a night. Really well done guys!!!

L’endroit dépaysant, le chalet, les petites attentions, le jacuzzi, le petit déjeuner … un super coin de paradis pour votre road-trip en Islande. Enfin un peu de quiétude pour se reposer efficacement comparer à d’autres guesthouses. J’adore cet hôtel !

In posizione isolata, questo hotel a conduzione familiare, offre camere abbastanza grandi, un po' datate. Il bagno è piccolo ed essenziale. Ci vorrebbe un po' più di pulizia e cura per i dettagli. La colazione non è male, continentale e abbondante. Prezzo giusto.

I am really glad I found hotel Stadarborg. I was doing a long drive from the Dettifos waterfall to the Jakulsarion lagoon and glacier, and I really need someone conveniently situated, so I didn't end up driving in darkness. This hotel was about 4 or 5 hours from my stop in the North of Iceland, and about 3 hours from the lagoon. The hotel has a range of regular rooms and two alpine style cabins in the rear for more budget conscious travelers. The hotel owner and her son made me feel very welcome, and even cooked me a special meal due to my arrival. The breakfast the next day was also outstanding

Non fatevi intimorire dalla prima impressione. Vi divertirete a guardare le “stranezze” di questo hotel a conduzione famigliare. Consigliamo di cenare presso la struttura. Camere pulite e abbastanza spaziose. Albergo che avrebbe bisogno di una rinnovata ma che nel suo complesso permette di trascorrere un piacevole soggiorno. Personale molto gentile e disponibile.
