羅德尼酒店(Rodney Hotel)

Slept in basement under dining area which was noisy with large groups of shouting people, followed by moving furniture until 2am.

First of all the staff are great and the breakfast was good, but it goes downhill from here. Parking is a nightmare and I had to park a distance from the property and carry bags in the pouring rain. Once checked in, I headed to my room which was very disappointing. A strong drain smell came from the bathroom which is the worst I have seen whilst travelling (Room 15), it smelled like the drains in Greece. There was mould all around the bath and soap scum was still present, the sink was also cracked. The room was tiny and had threadbare carpets and a light shone through beneath the door throughout the night. On top of this, noise travels a lot in this hotel, noisy guests downstairs, very very squeaky floorboards in the room above and the guest was walking around between 2am - 3.40am. Bathroom fans from other rooms seem to be on forever and can be heard humming throughout the night. Keen to say that I will not be returning to this hotel again when working in Bristol.

The Rodney Hotel. Ia a characterful and charming little independant 3 starr hotel. I was given room 29 which was rather small and spartan but i wias traveling alone and booked last minute so the above is totally understandable. The staff in the hotel were all great. All the young maids on reception were both wonderfully helpful, good at their jobs, and very beautiful ladies. The breakfasts were of a great quality and the breakfast service was a well run and organised start to the morning. I was back in the city for a wedding so neither night did I have yhd opportunity take diner at the hotel's restaurant but I suspect the food would have been of similar high standard of preparation as the breakfast. Last but not least the location was great. For enjoying my favourite hot spots of Bristol's classy district of Clifton.

Terrible decorative conditions. Mattress must have been 40 years old, impossible to sleep on. It is ok if you’re really not fussy as it is the cheapest in the Clifton area, but there is now way this is a 3-star

This has to be one of my most disappointing hotel stays. It wasn’t cheap for one night and the room was very small and very average. It looked tired and worn and in need of some rejuvenation. The linen on the bed was a blanket and covering rather than a duvet and cover and I question how regularly or easily these are cleaned especially coming out of the pandemic. The electrics went in the morning which meant a shower in the dark in a small bathroom which then couldn’t de-steam. The restaurant did look nice but we didn’t eat there so can’t comment. Right in the heart of Clifton so a good location but still quite a walk into Bristol- ok going but uphill coming back! But plenty of buses. I think this is an average small hotel with big hotel prices and very little delivery. The only plus is that they took dogs in the room but if I were a non-dog stayer I certainly wouldn’t stay there.
