We had a memorial service for my husband in Åkeshov castle. We had left exact requests about what should be served with coffee. Those wishes were not fulfilled and the cake (which was with loads of whipped cream which we had said no to) was also running out - and it did. The last drop was the incorrect invoice which was about five times as high as it should have been - we received someone else's invoice. Not so much that went right.

We stayed there for one night to be able to go to a friend's party. I doubt we'll ever stay anywhere else when visiting Stockholm. Lovely room, good beds, excellent shower. The atmosphere is, being an old castle, lovely. Everything is perfectly clean and well maintained. For being in Stockholm and 2 minutes from a subway station, there is _no_ noise. We could not hear the subway at all, nor road traffic. 1500 SEK/night is a very good price. The breakfast did not have a huge selection, but the quality was again very good. We very much prefer this. Service was good and very cheerful. We do not need more luxury.

We stayed at Åkeshovs Slott two nights in the beginning of July this year. We didn't expect too much as all we wanted was a couple of days in the capital before going home. Though the area and surroundings are nice and quiet, and only a minute's walk from the underground station (you're in central town in 15 minutes), the room was basic, but satisfactory. On the plus side; comfortable beds and good showers, with good pressure and easy to adjust temperature. If you're travelling with car, parking is free and the underground train relatively cheap, Parking in central Stockholm is extremely expensive, so this is a good alternative On the negative side: not very easy to access the rooms (this was in an annex to the main building) with your luggage, unless you have your own car and can drive over the grass and stop close to the door. The breakfast was not brilliant. Not as much choice as you'd like. On our first morning they ran out of bread (we weren't late) and it took 20 minutes before any new bread appeared. Also, and this was partly our own fault, we missed breakfast completely on our leaving morning as they didn't open until 08.00. We were informed about the breakfast times on arrival but had forgotten by the time we were about to leave. We didn't expect a hotel breakfast not to open until 8! So in all, an acceptable experience but nothing that stood out.

Clean and cosy rooms, excellent location. Good breakfast. Access to nearby nature reserve. Would recommend.

The hotel is located next to the metro station. It is very easy to get to. The location is great. It seems that you are outside the city, in the forest, but in fact it is in the city. The room was clean and there was has everything you need - tea, coffee, a kettle. Water in the shower was hot, which is great. Breakfast was delicious. The interior is wonderful and the staff is very nice. I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel is everything a historybuff like me would like in a hotell. the location is grate whit subeay stop just outside the grounds and parking included if you come by car. The main building is amazing and the staff is caring and service minded A+. They took me to a nice salong where i could wait and rest while i waited for my room to get reddy when i had arived early. The rooms are nothing to get all worked up buy, they are more function than fassion. in this case the function was what i needed, i slept well and had a place to clean up. The one thing i did miss what some sort of meat produkts at brakefast not even a slice of ham or salami for my sandwich to bee seen. brakefast was good, but in this regard laking.
