Our €2000/night stay at Cap Rocat was a disaster: - Rude, indifferent staff everywhere - "Historic" room = musty smells and electrical outages - Breakfast with missing items and terrible food - Saddle Restaurant (Michelin?) with appalling service - SPA staff so unprofessional we walked out Every other 5-star in Mallorca puts Cap Rocat to shame. Paying luxury prices for this level of neglect is unacceptable. Avoid unless you enjoy disappointment.

This hotel is stunning, the food is lovely and the staff are very friendly. However, we encountered problems that should not happen at a hotel in this price bracket. The first concerned the information we received in advance of our trip relating to being met at the airport. The email insisted that we meet the driver in the luggage carousel even if we had no luggage to collect. This was inaccurate as we had to go outside of the security area to meet the hotel representative. On arrival at the hotel, we were informed that there was to be a leather workshop at 6pm. We arrived back to the reception area only to be told that the workshop was slightly delayed. Incredibly this was postponed several times and finally started at 7pm. We were offered a drink to make up for the delay. The workshop was supposed to demonstrate the skills of the craftsman as he showed how various items were handmade. Instead, we were helped to make key rings with our initials hammered into the leather. Once completed, we expected to see the craftsman demonstrate his skills but he dismissed us and went and sat at a table where he worked alone. Someone had mentioned on this site about a smell in their hotel room. We also found this to be true but this could be expected given that it is a fort. The hotel provides a small scented candle to help overcome this problem. One major oversight is the lack of lighting in the bathroom: our shower was very dark which could have led to accidents. Also, while there are coffee making facilities for some reason there was no kettle to make tea. As the hotel offered to arrange tours, we asked them to book us in for a walking tour of Palma. Unfortunately we hadn’t asked the price but knew we could have arranged this independently for a very reasonable price. Normally when we book in this way, the hotel includes transport but this did not happen. Instead, it booked a taxi to bring us to meet the hotel guide. After 30 minutes of waiting for the guide to arrive and a phone call to the hotel asking what we should do, it transpired we had not been brought to the usual meeting place despite a member of the hotel staff having told the taxi driver where we were to be left off. Thankfully our walk was very enjoyable but certainly not worth the Euro 350 the hotel charged for the 2 - 21/2 hour tour with Euro 80 for taxis. Maybe this is because the majority of guests are American? In future, we’ll ask in advance to prevent these exorbitant and unjustified prices. The food is excellent and it is lovely to have a choice of 3 breakfast menus which are delivered in wicker baskets to each suite and laid out in an area of your choice. We generally had breakfast and lunch on the terrace at our suite but, unlike with the breakfast dishes, our plates were not collected until the following morning. This really should have been cleared that same day and given the high staff to guest ratio this should have been done. All in all, while the food was great, the set

My partner and I visited Cap Rocat yesterday with my sister and her husband, who had previously praised the hotel and its Sea Club, where we were booked for lunch. The grounds were stunning, but the overall experience was disappointing. Upon arrival, we were told to wait for a buggy to the Sea Club. When it arrived, another guest demanded it, and the attendant gave it to her, leaving us to wait for the next one. At the Sea Club, we ordered paella, but the waiter left it partially uncovered, allowing a bird to land on it. He insisted it was still fine to eat, and only after we requested it did they bring a new dish. After lunch, when we requested a buggy back, another couple rudely tried to take it, and though we protested, the attendant again did nothing to help. This time, we managed to keep our buggy. When we arrived at the reception, we were told we couldn’t sit at the bar while waiting for our taxi and had to stand outside, despite having spent 400 euros on lunch. Ironically, we saw other non-guests walk right in. The only apparent difference between us and them was race. As a mixed-ethnicity group, we experienced several microaggressions and biases at Cap Rocat. In 2024, this behavior is unacceptable. Please do better.

A stunning site, beautifully designed and kept up. Wonderful staff. Friendly and yet not familiar. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed. Lovely details like the cookies from a nearby convent and the herbal tea that comes with the turn down service. The Sea Club ( restaurant) is an experience in its own right, for lunch or dinner.
