We visited the Cedar Court Hotel Wakefield Spa for a day using the facilities finished off with an afternoon tea. Upon arrival Paul welcomed us, showed us all the facilities and put us at ease. We then used the gym which had everything we needed and then we had a swim, used the sauna, the steam room and the jacuzzi facilities until we were satisfied. Paul regularly checked we were happy and comfortable throughout. We then showered and changed and were taken to the well set out, informal seating area to have afternoon tea. The food was fantastic, dietary needs were confirmed and to our satisfaction. The opportunity to take anything we couldn’t eat was given too. Paul again checked we were content and that we had all of our needs met. Nothing was too much bother and we would recommend a visit here highly. Thank you for your hospitality Paul and the team.

I have been a member of the Cedar Court leisure club at Calder Grove for many many years , during this time many club managers and staff have come and gone. The current team are probably the best yet. Paul the current manager is clearly passionate about the service the club offers and has affected many much needed enhancements within the club and its become a brighter and better facility . The other team members , Lauren , Lindsay and the other young man ( sorry cant remember his name) are always cheerful and greet members with enthusiasm and warmth. I was considering moving to another club last year but due to the efforts of the current leisure club team i shall be staying put. Thanks to Paul and team. Rgds Tony Whittaker

My husband and I went for afternoon tea with spa. Paul welcomed us both and was very attentive, couldn’t do enough for us. The food was lovely we both really enjoyed the entire experience. We are both looking forward to going back.

We visited the Leisure Club today for a Spa visit with afternoon tea. We would like to thank Paul and Sam for a lovely afternoon. Nothing was too much trouble, from having to rearrange the booking at the last minute, to supplying towels. The tea and cakes were fantastic. 😀

Initially contacted the hotel via the Web contact form to find out if they were serving afternoon tea with the hotel being closed, got a very speedy response from Paul who left me a voicemail advising that they were still serving afternoon tea and leaving a direct number to contact on. Phoned the next day and spoke to Lauren who was so helpful and was happy to provide something that I knew my 8 year old son would actually eat. On the day we were greeted by both Lauren and Neesa, who were so helpful, processing our buyagift vouchers, showing us where to sit, bringing us our food/drink and bringing a box at the end for the bits we couldn't manage. The food was lovely, the sandwiches fresh with nice fillings, the scones slightly warm served with jam and clotted cream, the lemon posset in a cup was absolutely gorgeous and the pastry on the tart amazing. Would definitely recommend having the afternoon tea here.

We were initially booked in for afternoon tea and use of facilities when childrens’ swimming lessons were happening. Staff were very apologetic and were able to move our slot back. The afternoon tea was really nice and staff made a fuss of my mum as it was her birthday. They even brought some free Prosecco to apologise for the booking error. Lauren was really friendly and accommodating. Spa facilities were nice and clean. My only critique would be that there were no sun loungers- only a few rattan chairs dotted around.

Paul was great and made us feel really welcomed and looked after. The food was fabulous for the afternoon tea, especially the vegetarian selection. Lovely homemade cakes and scones. The spa facilities are clean and there is plenty to do to relax with the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and pool. Thank you, see you against soon.

My wife and I enjoyed a spa break with Afternoon Tea booked through BuyaGift. On arrival we were greeted by the lovely Lauren who made us most welcome. The spa was lovely and clean and we had a good overview of the facilities from Lauren before going in.

Came here for a "Spa Day and afternoon tea" and loved every minute! I was lucky enough to be given a spa day experience and decided to come here with my partner. We arrived on a Saturday and, never having done anything like this before, was unsure of what to expect. We were first met by the the lovely Lauren who explained everything in detail. We then met Paul who was equally great! We used the swimming pool, which is a perfect size (not too big) - the jacuzzi was a definite favourite, and I also tried the steam room, much better than a sauna in my opinion! My partner tried the sauna but I declined due to a past experience. We were brought cups of ice cold water half way through, although we could have gone and got our own as many times as we wanted. The absolute best bit was that it was completely empty besides us!! I felt like royalty or maybe an "A lister" lol After spending quite a while going back and forth between the different things, we decided to get dressed and head for our afternoon tea. This was brought to us by Paul, who couldn't do enough for us, and was really lovely. Tasty sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam and lots of delicious sweet treats to top it off! All very yummy 😋 We also opted for coffee instead of tea and was kept topped up by Paul. Nothing was too much trouble. All in all, a fantastic day and we were made to feel so welcome. Both Lauren and Paul were so friendly and helpful and we've decided we really must do it again soon! ❤ We can't thank them enough. Highly recommended *****
